But at some point, it didn’t continue, leaving her heartbroken and deeply hurt.
Today, after learning many things along with everyone else, she was moved to tears, unsure of how to feel. People never truly know what background or experiences another has gone through.
"Here's a story to share: Last year, I had a good relationship with someone. I gave them my heart a lot. I liked who they were, enjoyed listening when they spoke about things they loved or were interested in, and admired their seriousness about what they cared about. Every time we spent time together, it felt comfortable, like I was floating. I felt at ease being beside this person without thinking about gender, status, or anything else.
Then it reached a point where the relationship didn’t move forward. I was heartbroken and quite hurt. I never understood what happened. I didn’t understand why, when everything had been good all along, the good feelings suddenly seemed meaningless to them. At that time, I was filled with confusion, anger, and great sadness.
But today, after hearing and learning many things along with everyone else, piecing the story together, I cried without knowing how to feel. Now I understand why it happened that way back then. Our story became so small compared to what they have faced in their entire life.
Beneath the smiles, hugs, warmth, kindness, silence, or even coldness, cruelty, happiness, or suffering, we can never know what background or experiences a person has been through.
Although we no longer contact each other, I now feel great sympathy for them as a fellow human being. This kind of thing should never happen to anyone, and I hope no one else will have to go through this again."
