After the young singer and actor Film Rattapoom Tokongsap posted a photo of court documents along with news that he won a defamation case after being accused of investment fraud, which damaged his reputation, business, and credibility. The court recently ruled that the allegations were untrue, and the opposing party apologized and agreed to pay damages through the court process. Recently, Thairath Entertainment reached out to Film Rattapoom regarding this issue.
Recently, you posted that you won the case. Fans want to know exactly which case it was?
“Actually, it’s all the same case. I only have one incident that happened two years ago. Someone gathered people to create false information to discredit my reputation. Anything untrue, I sued because it was baseless accusations intended to discredit me. It’s been almost two years now. The court investigated witnesses and so forth, taking nearly two years for me to prove myself to society.”
So this case also involved Jay Patch (Kritsanong Suwanwong), right?
“All of them, yes.”
This is the case Film filed a lawsuit for?
“I sued them because I have no legal cases against me. They filed false police reports. I had to sue back because it affected my parents and my family name. It caused me to lose work, and people misunderstood me as a fraud or extortionist.”
How do you feel after hearing the court’s verdict?
“Honestly, I’m happy on behalf of my family and relatives. I have been deeply hurt because when I applied for work, my uncle, my siblings, and relatives with the same surname were asked why I behaved that way, even though I never deceived or harmed anyone.
I also suffered a lot. Many of my jobs were canceled. I had to prove myself by using the law and justice processes to protect my rights. It took a long time—almost two years. I’ve been out of work and misunderstood for two years. But receiving a fair verdict makes me happy.”
“I don’t hold grudges against those who accused me because after investigation, whether in nearly 5–6 cases, they paid fines, apologized to me, and showed respect. They all said the same thing—that they were used, manipulated by someone. I have kept their names and submitted them to the police. Because I said from the start that this happened to me because one person kept stirring trouble, even though it wasn’t true.”
Is this case fully resolved now, or are there more cases?
“My cases against this person are individual lawsuits. There are many more people to come. You will see them all soon. I will post about them because I have court permission. It’s about restoring justice.”
When is the next court hearing scheduled?
“The next one involves another defamation case, probably next month. Mostly, I’m suing them now.”
Is it about a famous person in the news?
“Yes, various people.”
Are you back to work normally now?
“Yes, I’m back to work as usual.”
Any message to fans who supported you all along?
“Thank you very much to everyone who has been kind and believed in me. To those who misunderstood, I say again: look at the evidence I have proven. No one else would have endured nearly two years like I did. But I want justice to be served for myself.”
