The rainy season has officially begun, and many areas are expected to face strong winds and storms. Recently, the famous Likay troupe Wong Thewan, led by the star "Kung Suthirat" performed last night in Nakhon Sawan Province. Unexpectedly, a storm struck, causing heavy damage to the stage. He admitted he never imagined this would happen to his troupe.
The incident occurred between about 3 and 4 p.m. I arrived at the venue and noticed a tire problem, so I ran back to the gas station. I saw the wind beginning to pick up, so I quickly called the team to warn them to be careful of the wind. When I returned, I saw tables from the Chinese banquet scattered everywhere. Behind the stage, we were trying to hold the LED screen, but all the panels were ready to collapse. We hurried down and climbed onto the stage to hold it together, but the wind was too strong.
I never thought it would happen to my own troupe. Normally, we have experience dealing with rain and wind, but this venue was an open space with nothing to block the wind. Within minutes, it came quickly and fiercely, with both strong wind and rain. We tried our best, even trying to lower parts one by one, but it was too late—the screen collapsed.
The initial damage is mostly to the LED screen, which is heavily damaged, but the full cost is still unassessed because the entire panel fell. It's quite severe. Fortunately, no crew members were injured. At the time, it was just me and a few team members; the rest of the Likay troupe hadn't arrived yet. When I got there, the wind was very strong. As the screen was about to topple, we rushed onto the stage to hold it, but it was no use—the screen fell right before our eyes.
