Before renovating, the house was made of black stone with black floors and had a pit-like shape. Then Moddam Kachapa came to film a program and said, “Brother Hoi, is this a house or a cave? You should change it so your life can be brighter.” So I did it until it looked like this. This depends on belief, but I do believe in these things because I spend a lot of time with Willy McIntosh. When I was 106 million baht in debt and had nothing left, one day Willy McIntosh called me and told me to visit a fortune teller named Sin Sa Noi at the Tha Ruea Shrine.
That day, he took me to perform a ritual to lay the spirits to rest, like being born again. Then he looked at this house and asked, “Do you want 100 percent?” I said, “I have nothing to lose, so yes, 100 percent.” Then he told me to change the stairs from one side of the house to the other. At that moment, I only thought, “Where will I get the money?”
Because work was scarce, then he told me to make the house level. “Make it level” meant filling in the pit. After filling it, he said it was sacred. Under the house foundation, there must be a fishing net that has been used for three years for trade purposes—to attract flowing business. Also, the stairs had to be repositioned so the steps aligned with the new entrance direction.
