Following yesterday's (16 May 2026) train-bus collision at Makkasan that caused significant loss, Boom Panadda Wongpudi posted condolences to the families of the victims. She added that she felt shocked and deeply saddened, viewing it as an incident that should never have happened. However, she acknowledged the complex issues of traffic congestion in Thailand with its many limitations.
"I would like to express my condolences to the families of those who died in the train-bus collision accident," Boom said.
Additionally, Boom Panadda commented further on the incident: "The train-bus collision shocked and deeply saddened me because it should never have happened. But I understand the various traffic congestion issues. I hope the barriers at railway crossings can be extended or designed more like those I’ve seen abroad. For example, at railway crossings or pedestrian crossings, if the front is too congested to move, vehicles must keep a safe distance there. That area should be more accessible. I feel this could be a lesson for us in how we live on the roads. I also want to express my condolences to all the families who lost loved ones. I am truly heartbroken."
