Opening up after becoming a freelance actor, famous comedian "Tukky Sudarat" shared a story that some may find hard to believe but should not disrespect, as she personally experienced it. It was the most shocking event in her life, almost losing her father due to breaking a promise with the "Phi Fa" spirit. Tukky explained that her family worships Phi Fa—a spiritual medium who serves as a representative of unseen forces, transmitting and healing those whom science cannot help. It is a supernatural belief, a personal faith, rooted in ancient legends and rituals that still exist today.
Was her father chronically ill because of breaking a promise with the Phi Fa? Her father had a chronic condition, gout, diagnosed in 1989 CE, which became severe around 1998 CE when Tukky was a first-year university student. The chronic symptoms included memory loss—forgetting siblings, relatives, everything—caused by the intense bodily pain. Her father experienced pain in every joint. This disease never fully cures but only alleviates symptoms. By late 2004 to early 2005, Tukky’s father’s condition worsened severely, to the point she feared she might lose him. In 2007 CE, when Workpoint became a major company, Tukky was hosting alongside Lung Pun during the big launch event to introduce Workpoint Entertainment as a public company.
While working, her phone kept ringing nonstop, so she stepped outside near the women's restroom to take the call. At that moment, "Ryu Jitsamphat," newly joined at Workpoint to host the show "Khon Uad Phi" (People Expose Ghosts), approached, placed a hand on her shoulder, and said he saw five things: an old man and woman’s spirits clinging to the fence outside the house, unable to enter, tears flowing; a pair of apology trays in the middle of a field; nine dancers performing around a man about three cubits tall; a white and gold urn; and her father standing before the urn. Ryu added, “He is afraid of you,” then walked away.
When Tukky spoke with her mother, her mother said, “Father can’t take it anymore. He doesn’t remember anything, dear. Where can I take him? He wants to return home.” Believe it or not, the next day at home, her father lay in the center with nine Phi Fa dancers performing. The Phi Fa spirits communicated to her father: “You took the bai sri offering and promised to follow the Phi Fa family tradition if you recovered, but after you got better, you neglected the Phi Fa customs. Therefore, you are punished with this pain.”
“No one can help you because your parents are at the fence outside, and the one lying down is not your father but a karmic creditor who came for the yellow-gold urn. You must perform the ritual,” exactly as Ryu Jitsamphat had said. Afterward, Tukky flew home to follow Ryu’s instructions, creating yellow, white, and gold urns as requested. Her father lay for three days and nights, unable to move. She asked him, “Where did you go?” He replied, “I stood and saw two paths: one red with people walking backward into it, the other white with people walking forward like a road—like hell and heaven. I almost took the path.”
Her father revived when her mother called him to eat, then gradually recovered from his illness and remains healthy to this day. She cautions, “Don’t disrespect it—it’s truly miraculous.” Now, her father fulfills his promise to the Phi Fa by making merit and dedicating merits, and whenever there is a Phi Fa gathering, he always participates if possible.
