It quickly became a heated drama when the female YouTuber Sendaai Pimlada Waithaisong or Sod Style posted a question about sexual harassment but faced a heavy backlash that forced her to clarify and apologize.
Initially, Sod Style posted, “I have deep sympathy for those sexually harassed, but one thing I don’t understand — unrelated to any specific case — is oral sexual assault. Is it really called that? Can we bite the person who does it to us, or do we just get carried away and go along with it? If we bite, would it be considered assault?”
However, she then faced harsh criticism from netizens who felt the post lacked empathy and seemed to blame victims. Some pointed out that during actual incidents, victims are often in shock, terrified, or threatened and unable to resist. They suggested that if she was truly curious, she could ask ChatGPT or Gemini instead of posting like this.
In response to the controversy, Sendaai deleted the post and wrote a brief message: "I apologize for any misunderstanding caused by my previous post." Yet, this did not quell the backlash.
She then shared an older post expressing sympathy toward Khun Sai regarding sexual harassment, adding, “Why do people think this is a counterattack? For what reason???”
Still, the situation did not improve, prompting her to issue another statement: “Repost: I sincerely apologize for my previous post. When I posted it, I didn’t think carefully enough and didn’t realize how much my words could hurt many people.”
“Lately, with more news about this topic, I reread what I posted and realized it wasn’t what I truly wanted to convey. I feel deeply sorry because it’s such a sensitive subject that should never be spoken about lightly, regardless of the reason.”
“Especially for those who have personally experienced such terrible events, I apologize for causing discomfort or distress. Now I understand that even without ill intent, some words can deeply hurt others.”
“I spoke with a friend knowledgeable about the law who also experienced such trauma as a child. I now understand how it affects the mind and leaves lasting scars. I have no excuses, have deleted the post, and will take this as a lesson.”
“I am willing to be a voice on Sexual Harassment and will study the issue thoroughly. I stand with all victims. Thank you to everyone who reminded me and helped me reflect. I sincerely apologize and hope to prove through my actions that I have truly learned from this mistake.”
