An in-depth look into the life story of a handsome young actor that many have never known. “Rocky Surabodin Sombatjaroen” The heir of a famous artist reveals his approach to raising his beloved son. “Little Goody” Who has shown signs of being an artist since childhood. Rocky tries to raise his son the way his mother, “Jeab Atthapornpim,” raised him from a young age. Rocky Surabodin said,
“Honestly, I try to raise my son the way my mother raised me. I feel that she raised me like a friend since I was young, and she did the same with all her children, not just me. I try to talk a lot. When he started school, I’d ask about his teachers, friends, what Goody likes and dislikes. This helps him feel confident to speak up and communicate with us.”
Does your son show signs of being an artist? “I think so, because he has a keen ear. He listens to melodies and hears me sing; soon he starts humming to himself or even singing my songs. When we or the radio play music, he picks up the tune quite quickly. But honestly, do I expect anything from him? No, I don’t expect him to be a singer or artist. I myself didn’t plan to enter the entertainment industry. When I had to choose what to study before university, I saw my grandfather, father, uncles, and aunts all in showbiz. I felt, maybe it's a male trait—not to feel a need to prove oneself, but to want to see if we can do more. So I studied something unrelated—economics for my master’s, then political science—to see what else I could do. I don’t expect my son to be like me or follow my path. I want to equip him fully, give him knowledge in many areas, so when the day comes that he knows what he wants to do, he can choose for himself.”
Are there any worries about your son? “I feel that he hasn’t done anything to worry me. It’s me who wonders if I’m doing well enough for him. From the day he was born, life was good, but suddenly all the external factors crashed in on us. Do I feel stressed? Yes. Worried? Yes. But normally, I don’t like drama that much. I like to entertain, take care, and want everyone to be happy. But inside, I worry every day whether I’m doing well for my son, whether I can protect him from the waves of problems and challenges he faces now, and ultimately, whether we can get through it.”
