Mo Monchanok Reveals Latest Electricity Bill, Explains Why Costs Soared

Previously Mo Monchanok who shared her personal experience after trying to save electricity by using a fan during the day and only turning on the air conditioner at night. However, she was shocked when her April electricity bill arrived, revealing a surprisingly high cost she hadn’t expected.

Recently, Mo shared her latest electricity bill for May, showing clearly that the bill had decreased.

Mo explained that this month's bill came in about 200 baht cheaper than the previous month. She realized that the air conditioner was not the main cause of the high bill. Instead, the problem was electric stoves and cooking appliances like air fryers, egg cookers, and electric kettles, which drove up electricity costs. Now, she decided to stop cooking at home and buy food instead, since cooking herself had become very expensive—more costly even than ordering food. She concluded that ordering or buying prepared food was a way to save on electricity expenses. She said, "This is how I solve the electricity bill problem because if we don’t help ourselves, who will?"

Following the viral video, many netizens commented, focusing on electrical appliances that convert electricity into heat as a hidden cause of rising bills. Examples included:

"The hot air oven is a real culprit," "Cooking at home costs 1000 baht, but buying food is 200 baht—stopped baking chicken and desserts, and the bill really dropped, haha," "Yes, Mo, air fryers, rice cookers, and electric pans. I used them thinking I could control my diet, but the bill soared, so I quit cooking and just buy food," "I found the rice cooker was the problem; it consumed a lot of power. When I unplugged the fridge and only used the cooker, the bill dropped from over 1000 baht to 660 baht. I stay at home, by the way," "Definitely the electric stove, haha. My bill went from 700 to 1200 baht while cooking at home for two people. For me, buying food is cheaper and less tiring," and so on.
