Hum Jokmok and Gift Khokkhoon Mourn the Passing of Comedian Sang Dok Sadao, Recall His Endearing Personality

The comedy industry mourns another loss with the passing of Sang Dok Sadao also known as Mr. Mee Sakon, a well-known comedian aged 63. News of his passing shocked Hum Jokmok and Gift Khokkhoon, who traveled to attend the funeral at Wat U Thong, Kok Kram Subdistrict, Bang Pla Ma District, Suphanburi Province, on the evening of 23 May 2026, which was the final night of the ceremony.

After the Buddhist prayer service, Hum and Gift spoke to the media. Hum said he felt heartbroken as friends gradually pass away one by one, as is natural with time. He expressed condolences to Sang’s family. He also shared a joke he played with Sang, asking if he had managed to visit Surin Province's Prasat District yet. Sang hasn’t been able to go because of a herniated disc pressing on his nerve. The joke was one that always got laughs wherever it was told.

When asked about their bond, Hum explained that every year Sang would bring him preserved and fresh limes to his home. Some years, due to drought and limited oil, Sang didn’t bring any. Hum still has a jar of preserved lime from him. He said Sang would visit often when traveling and usually brought limes, and they would occasionally meet on TV shows.

Regarding Sang’s illness, Hum said Sang had been hospitalized multiple times. The last time, he thought Sang would recover since even his wife had survived her illness. He didn't think Sang would pass easily. But upon hearing the bad news and watching a clip, Hum felt like crying. Rock Kongkoi, a close friend of Sang’s, also came to the funeral. They accepted it as the natural course of life. Hum emphasized that those who take care of their health have an advantage, while those who don’t may suffer.

Hum added he always says he doesn’t know who will be next since people are starting to pass one after another. He doesn’t want to face more funerals. Just hearing about hospitalizations makes him uneasy. At Sang’s funeral for Danny, they were still joking together; Sang teased him gently, not crudely. But less than a month later, time passed quickly, and knowing Sang was gone made him think about the inevitability of death. He urged everyone to get health checkups since illnesses can strike suddenly. Modern medicine has advanced, and new diseases continue to emerge. Hum said his own health is generally fine, though he sometimes gets checkups and sometimes doesn’t.

Regarding tomorrow, after Sang’s cremation, there will be a concert at night, but Hum has work at CentralWorld. He sent a message to Sang to rest well and comfortably, promising to return as Sang Dok Sadao one day. He said they will meet again eventually since no one escapes death.

Meanwhile, Gift Khokkhoon added that she is not afraid because nothing is certain except death, which can come sooner or later. She expressed sadness that when she last saw Sang at Danny’s event, they didn’t talk much. Sang mentioned he was going to the hospital, but she didn’t want to ask more, not expecting it to be serious or that he would leave them so soon. She urged younger people not to be careless but accepted that death is inevitable. She said no one should become bedridden and a burden to their families, as it is painful. She believes Sang did not suffer much and wished him a safe journey to a better place. She told him she will wait and promised to meet again, asking him not to run away.
