After a heated controversy arose about a child of a 1990s star playing roughly and breaking a restaurant's window, the restaurant owner initially communicated well with the family. However, after presenting a damage bill of over ten thousand baht, the 1990s celebrity hung up and stopped responding to messages.
This incident caused netizens to speculate about Navin Tar. Comments abbreviated his name as N.W.T. and criticized the child. Meanwhile, a well-known entertainment page, "E-Pa Khang Baan," confirmed that it was definitely not N.W.T., hinting that the 1990s star involved was once a leading man, even if only in afternoon dramas. Another clue was that he has two children, currently has few acting projects, and has shifted to other work.
Recently, Namwhan Patavee Phayakkabut, the wife of Tar, went live and addressed the issue, saying, “Today, someone sent me the news and everyone was typing that it was N.W.T.'s child who broke the glass. I apologize, but it was the child who did it. No matter whose child, they don't understand. You cannot blame the child. Whether it's your child or not, children wouldn't do this if they were older; they wouldn't want their parents to spend money.”
“But adults who sit and nitpick, blaming the child for poor parenting, have you never had children who made mistakes or did something wrong? Thai society is one that gives opportunities. Those who don’t fit the social norms and sit commenting and seeking attention, please leave this society. Otherwise, with the new social standards now, you will be sued.”
Nearby, Navin Tar joined the live stream and said, “If you're going to insult, insult the parents, not the child. Don’t talk about the child. Don’t talk about the child.”
Namwhan also revealed, “If someone insults or condemns that person, if you comment, I will help them sue. Saying their child is bad, untrained, then insult the parents — don’t insult the child. The child is how old? When you were a child, did you never make mistakes?”
“This time I’m really angry. It’s not because it’s our child, but because you’re talking about a child who hasn’t been properly taught. Don’t insult the parents. Don’t insult the child. How old is the child? When you were a child, didn’t you ever make mistakes?”
Then, Namwhan announced clearly she would help hire a lawyer for the 1990s star to sue those commenting negatively about the child, saying, “I can say this because I have the money to hire a lawyer to sue. But if the parents of that child are facing economic difficulties now, they might not afford a lawyer to sue those strange commenters. I want to declare here that I’m willing to send a lawyer to help sue.”
“This will set a social precedent in Thailand and stop strange criticisms that hurt children’s feelings. Because your comments today stay online, and when the child grows up and searches for it, it will be part of their and their family’s history. If it were your family, you wouldn’t want this to happen, right?”
