Recently, the beautiful mother Hana Tasnawalee opened up about a spontaneous trip where she gave up her Korea ticket to team up and take beloved senior actress Mae Moo Pimphaka Siangsombun on a flight to broaden their horizons in Hong Kong and Macau, marking Mae Moo's first international travel in many years.
Hana said the trip happened very suddenly. Initially, they planned to go to Korea, but when she learned that Mae Moo wanted to visit Macau but never had the chance, and after tentatively suggesting it—since normally Mae Moo refuses to leave the house despite years of invitations—this time Mae Moo said yes immediately. So Hana quickly booked the tickets without delay.
How was Macau? How was Korea?
"It was fun with friends. Actually, it was a last-minute gathering. I asked my husband quickly for permission, saying 'Let's go to Korea,' then the Hong Kong-Macau trip happened spontaneously as a stroke of luck. Mae Moo wanted to go but never did, so I said it’s okay, I’ll take you there. We changed the ticket, abandoned Korea, bought new tickets to Hong Kong, and took her all the way to Macau. She hadn’t left Bangkok for years, so it was a sudden trip. We returned from Korea on the 7th, then immediately decided, never mind, let’s buy new tickets and take Mae Moo to Macau first."
What made Mae Moo decide to leave the house since she usually doesn't?
"It was surprising too. At first, it was supposed to be just me and P'Som going, but I told Mae Moo, 'If you come to Bangkok, don’t come now because I’ll be in Korea.' So I asked if she wanted to go, just casually. I thought she wouldn’t, since I’ve invited her for years and she never leaves the house. But she said, 'Hana, book a ticket for me too.' So I hurried to book, sent her the ticket, and told her it was all arranged. She said, 'See you at the airport.' She came from Khao Yai, so meeting up made us happy."
Were you surprised she suddenly said yes?
"Yes, I was surprised too. Maybe she wanted to find happiness for herself. I’m glad she decided to come because she’d said before she wanted to join trips but felt like a hindrance since we usually travel as a family. She wanted our family to travel, but this trip had no husband or children, so she came along. It was like a reunion, traveling like young women 20-plus years ago."
Did you ask why she decided to go?
"I didn’t ask because she wanted to go and wanted something to do."
While there, an incident happened in Thailand. Were you by her side the whole time?
"She was shocked. Reporters called while we were traveling without checking social media. When the calls came, she hung up and then checked social media, seeing what everyone saw. Mae Moo cried a lot, and I stayed by her side to comfort her. It must have been shocking for someone far abroad receiving such news."
Hana said everything has improved now. In this family matter, no one is right or wrong. Maybe it’s just a misunderstanding. We want to support because both Nai and Mae Moo are dear to me. I’ve raised Nai since he was 3 and Mae Moo has been in my life for over 20 years. They are beloved by us both. We want them both to be happy and just offer our support. No one is to blame in this equation."
Many people worry if Mae Moo cried and was sad.
"It’s okay. She has friends taking care of her nearby, which is fortunate since I’m not with her. When I realized she needed someone, I felt good being by her side. After that, she received calls and had friends visit her in Khao Yai. I believe Mae Moo’s mental state is strong now."
Have you invited her to stay in Bangkok?
"I want her to come to Bangkok too, but she feels that the place there is calmer and happier. She enjoys walking and exercising there with good air. Maybe that’s where she wants to live and spend her life. But she will come to Bangkok eventually. I’m trying to coax her to come."
Have you asked if she plans to return to work?
"Probably not for a while. She’s currently focusing on physical recovery. There are activities planned; soon we’ll take another trip around the world. I told Mae Moo to save money and get ready. I have the passport already."
