Fans Concerned as Noom Kanchai Plans to Gradually Step Back from Popular Show After 9 Years of Toxic Experiences

After Ajarn Yingsak took over hosting duties on the show "Hon Krasae," replacing the show's owner, Noom Kanchai, it drew considerable attention as recently others have often filled in as host.

Recently, at a special event for the Bell bird's nest brand at booth number 2-T71 in Impact Challenger Hall 2, Muang Thong Thani, Noom Kanchai spoke about this matter.

Having Ajarn Yingsak host "Hon Krasae" in your place?

First, I want to thank Ajarn Yingsak for the honor of hosting "Hon Krasae." Actually, Ajarn and I have been close for a long time. We've worked together before, and I've seen his talents extend beyond just food topics. I've witnessed his versatility since his time at Channel 8 doing talk shows. He is skilled at covering entertainment, politics, and general topics, so I feel he is very capable.

One day I asked him if he wanted to work with me. It turned out he had just left "Kon Dang Nang Clear" and was about to go to Channel 7. He said, “Noom, I've already promised them, what should I do?” I told him that if he had already committed, he should honor that, but if he wasn't doing anything there, to think of me first. He agreed. I kept inviting him and said that if there was ever a day I was unavailable, could he fill in? At first, he was hesitant, wondering if he could do it, but I was confident and encouraged him to try.

Have you discussed long-term plans about him hosting more regularly?

I told him that next time I'm not here, please fill in, and he did not refuse.

Is this a sign you plan to gradually step back from "Hon Krasae"?

It's not exactly a sign. But, am I tired? Yes. Hosting "Hon Krasae" for 9 years is very exhausting—dealing with toxic issues daily and constantly hearing about others' problems. In the beginning, I had to manage how to live with it and even consulted a psychiatrist. Later, I learned the work tricks, but it remains tiring.

If someday I step back and someone else hosts, I won't disappear completely. I'm the one who books guests, so everything still goes through me. I'm happy to have someone else on screen hosting.

Are you worried that if it's not you, the show's reception might decline?

Not at all. I just feel I was lucky to get the opportunity. I believe there are others who are more skilled and better interviewers than me; they just haven't had the chance yet. If we find that person, I'm ready to give them the opportunity. If viewers say, “Noom, you don't need to come anymore; use this person instead,” I'd be happy to hear that because I don't want to leave behind a reputation of “why did he come back?”“The burden”I don't want to be like that.

So currently, Ajarn Yingsak is your top choice to replace you?

I can't say yet. Ajarn might take another show. I haven't set any definite plans to step down. There could be changes.

Fans might be disheartened waiting. Do you have plans to gradually step back?

Honestly, I have thought about it because I'm tired. Waking up every day to hear about this and that, I want to travel and go driving with friends sometimes. I'm not too worried about ratings. I believe initially viewers might not watch because they associate the show with me, but over time it will recover. Though it won't be soon.
