It became shocking news in the entertainment industry when the famous comedian Ball Chernyim and Yuri Sukanda his Japanese-Thai wife announced the end of their marital relationship, though they remain close friends who care for and support each other as before. Thairath Entertainment revisits the love story of Ball and Yuri.
Regarding their love story, Ball and Yuri appeared together on the "Kui Zab Show" on One31 channel on 22 Jul 2019. Ball revealed how their romance began, saying they met at an event where Yuri's company hired him. They hit it off, so the crew asked Yuri for her number. Yuri said, "He was very persistent. I checked him out and found he was genuine. When we talked, I saw he was responsible and hardworking beyond just being funny."
Ball and Yuri dated for over five years before their sweet wedding on 3 May 2015 at Impact Forum Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. Soon after marriage, Yuri faced issues with Ball’s past flirtatious behavior. She once spoke about these problems in their relationship, saying, "Before marriage, I was indifferent; he had the right to choose, and so did I. But after marriage, it’s different. I chose him as family and life partner, so we must work to keep it alive."
When asked about the time Yuri considered leaving him, she said, "I thought I didn’t want to stay in this vicious, crazy cycle anymore and was ready to leave. But deep down, I believed he couldn't live without me. We’d been through so much together; I’m part of his life and handle everything for him. So, how could he be without me?"
Regarding the issue of Ball trying to win Yuri back with a car, Ball explained, "About the car and the apology, I asked P'Hai for help. Sin Sae Bpen Nueng also helped mediate. On the day she left, I was silent and unsure what to do, crying and stressed. Then P'Tak Boriboon called to check on me. I said I had to go out for work. He said he’d come visit and slowly comforted me until P'Hai called and helped talk to her."
Additionally, Ball and Yuri faced rumors about conflicts between stepmother and stepchildren, and allegations that Ball neglected his kids. Ball's children with his ex-wife clarified these were false. Ball insisted he fully cares for his children, saying, "Let me clarify: some asked why my kids are so grown when I’m with Yuri. They aren’t Yuri's kids but from my previous marriage. Since we don’t live together, some think I abandoned or neglected them for my new partner. But I take care of everything related to my children from head to toe. I’ll do this until my last breath. Even though I have a new family, I never neglect my kids. Since they’re grown, I let them live their own lives, so they know they must manage if I’m not around."
Ball and Yuri also faced other dramas several times, with Yuri always by Ball’s side offering support. However, after more than 11 years of marriage, they announced in the early hours of 29 May 2026 their separation as husband and wife, just less than a month after celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary, ending their love story with heartbreak.
