After Wat Prayasu Renton's Facebook page posted a grand merit-making announcement with "Baifern Pimchanok Luevisetpaibul" as the main host of the Mahachat sermon of the Vessantara Jataka tomorrow (31 May 2026), netizens commented on the artwork saying it looked like a black-and-white memorial invitation. Baifern has now responded to this issue, revealing that
"At the end of the month, I will be the host of the Kathin Mahachat sermon, but the issue is that the image of me was posted by the temple. I was surprised by the promotion because I didn’t know about it. Normally, I make merit quietly and don’t talk about it. This time, it seems the temple posted my photo. I only found out when my manager showed it to me and said I looked like I was dead (laughs). When I saw the photo, I wasn’t sure either, but maybe it wasn’t intentional. I join in the merit-making nonetheless."
"That day, I sent my father to attend because I had other commitments. It’s a major merit-making event, and I’ve been doing this regularly. I’ve also helped renovate the temple and installed an elevator since the abbot is elderly. I intend to continue supporting. Let's share merit together. It’s okay; I haven’t seen it myself. It’s time to move on and continue sharing merit, everyone. No worries at all. I’m not bothered. Mostly, I enjoy it and don’t take things seriously. But don’t tease too often—it might shock people and discourage those who made the artwork. Maybe they had good intentions. Don’t overthink it. Let’s move on. Don’t upset the artist; they might have meant well. It’s all good. Let’s share merit and not say goodbye just yet."
