The dress featured an indigo blue tone adorned with crystals and sequined patterns, complemented by matching accessories including a necklace, earrings, bracelet, and a traditional Yan Lipao handbag, creating a perfectly coordinated look. The "La Mode en Majesté - Royal Thai Dress: From Tradition to Modernity" exhibition is a collaboration among the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACIT, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. It runs from 13 May to 1 November 2026.
The event commemorates the 340th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 170th anniversary of formal diplomatic ties between Thailand and the French Republic (1856–2026). It showcases over 200 pieces including royal gowns, accessories, and jewelry designed by French designer Pierre Balmain in cooperation with the high-end embroidery house Lesage, alongside Thai designers.
The focus is on the development of royal court attire and its global representation through displays of garments worn by Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, Queen Suthida Phatcharasuthaphimol, and Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.
Alongside the eight royal Thai dress styles, the exhibition features valuable Thai handicrafts reflecting the intricate wisdom and cultural heritage that have been preserved over time. It also serves as a key initiative to promote the royal Thai dresses for UNESCO intangible cultural heritage registration in 2026.
