Mam Jokmok Reveals Reasons for Leaving Workpoint, Opens Up After Disappearing from TV Screens

Mam Jokmok opens up after disappearing from TV screens, admitting Mam Jokmok left Workpoint nearly a year ago and became a freelancer, revealing feelings of saturation as he approaches retirement age. Recently, Mam spoke openly about this to the media.

Mam Jokmok said: "I'm a freelancer now. We've been together a long time. There wasn't a formal contract, just a mutual understanding. Do I miss it? Yes, I do. It's been almost a year since I left but I haven't told anyone. My last episode aired in October, so it's been about nine months. I don't know if the other two have renewed their contracts."

Mam Jokmok said: "I wanted to take a break for a while. I used to wonder why P'Thep stopped. Now that I'm in that position, sometimes I realize I talk too much. I've said so much and performed throughout my life; stopping isn't easy. It actually ended back during 'Ching Roi Ching Lan' which aired 4-5 years ago. When the format changed to 'Mam Toa Deaw,' it was basically the same block, nothing new. I want to make music shows, but they've already been done and talked about a lot."

About his relationship with the channel?

Mam Jokmok said: "We still have a great relationship, just like before. They still follow me, film and interview me, and it's still fun. It's just that with age, many of my peers are gradually retiring."

Mam Jokmok said: "Soon, many new channels might approach me. But if it's the same old style, I don't know how it will be. If it's a game show or talk show, it must be a fresh new format to keep up with current content trends because methods have changed nowadays. It's interesting."

Mam Jokmok said: "Recently, someone from China approached me to make vertical short films, 3-5 minutes long. Money isn't the main issue; it's about the feelings of the creator. Young people watch these, but those aged 40-50 might not because it narrows their view. But if I want to do it, I think I can—cry, laugh, all within three minutes."
