Exclusive: Jensuda Opens Up About Losing 40 Million Baht to a Close Friends Fraud

Jensuda Panto opens up for the first time: “It wasn’t really about borrowing money; it was about being invited to invest in something that never actually existed. We’ve known each other a long time. She once said she wanted to be like a big sister to me because I’m an only child, so I’d have someone to consult with. I happily agreed—I wanted a sister figure to support and care for me.”,

The Beginning
Our relationship was like sisters. Whenever I was tired from work, I would confide in her. Life has been tough; nothing ever came easy. I felt that was the moment she recognized an opportunity to take advantage of me... then she stepped in, saying she wanted to help ease my burdens. At the time, it felt very warm and comforting to have her in my life.”

“She offered opportunities that made me confident these were good and trustworthy because she guaranteed them. I gradually invested starting with millions, eventually totaling 40 million baht over about two years. Later, I heard she had account issues being frozen and under investigation by the Anti-Money Laundering Office, citing various reasons. I never verified these claims; I just believed her and kept waiting.”

Moment of Doubt

During that time, I secretly began to feel uneasy. Why did her stories not add up? It seemed strange. But I convinced myself that she was like a sister and there was nothing to worry about. When I hadn’t received any returns for a long time, I told my husband. He said, “Your friend is deceiving you.” We argued because I couldn’t believe he would see my friend that way, but in the end, he was right. He even suggested making formal documents, so we signed agreements before the truth fully emerged less than a month later.”

The Day I Found Out

“My friends knew before me. I was the last to find out because I was brainwashed into not telling anyone, as she said she only had my best interests at heart. One day, a friend called saying something was wrong and advised me to talk to Khun Khao Pod. When I learned more, I was shocked. None of us had known about each other’s involvement before, but we were all invited to invest under the same pretense. Khun Khao Pod checked and found everything was fabricated; none of it was real.”

After the Discovery

“I didn’t call her but sent a message asking if there was any money left if I cashed a check. She replied there wasn’t. I then told her I would proceed with legal action. That was our last conversation.”

“When we met in court, she didn’t smile because there was no reason to. I didn’t want to give her a smile either. Strangely, her husband stared at me for about 10 seconds without looking away. I wasn’t sure what he wanted.”

Message to Her

“I don’t want to say anything, not even a word. She is completely gone—100% gone. (She has become a person you don’t recognize?) Yes. There’s no point in longing for the past; it’s over and forgotten. If she wants to talk, it’s only through lawyers.”
