Today (5 Jun 2026 GMT+7) Mr. Panthip Puapongphan Chairman of the Homeland Watch Foundation revealed progress in following the investigation into the death of Tangmo Nida also known as Tangmo Pattarathida Patcharawirapong He stated that after being entrusted by Khun Mae Panida Siriyutthayothin, Tangmo’s mother, to access documents and evidence in the case files, he has thoroughly studied all information, including photos, autopsy reports, and related documents.
He found points warranting further examination. Previously, many injury photos had never been publicly revealed, and information shared on social media lacked verifiable sources. Only after receiving the complete case files did he see clear details of some injuries, especially around the right and left knee folds, inner thighs, and wounds on the back.
Some wounds were so deep that the subcutaneous fat layer was visible. From the perspective of forensic experts consulted, these injuries might not correspond solely to wounds caused by a boat propeller. Notably, the wounds on the right knee fold showed multiple marks resembling blunt force or sharp object trauma rather than slicing.
Additionally, further wounds were found on the left knee fold, with three injury marks identified in the case photos. One had a curved shape resembling a “shark’s mouth,” raising questions about the objects causing the wounds and suggesting that different injuries might have been caused by different objects.
A wound specialist commented that some wounds indicate the victim’s leg might have been fully extended during the incident, which is an important observation for reconstructing the sequence of events before death.
Regarding the cause of death, he confirmed there is no official conclusion yet. However, based on his study, he suspects the victim may have been injured before death and that some events may have occurred prior to the body being found in the river. This is supported by forensic experts’ opinions on the injury patterns and the presence of mud in the victim’s mouth and digestive tract.
Nevertheless, these points remain observations from evidence study and must await consideration and conclusions from relevant authorities, especially the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).
Throughout the investigation, he and his team have continuously submitted information, documents, and additional observations to the DSI. He believes that the forensic evidence collected is sufficient for a comprehensive fact-finding process. He emphasized that he has never received any payment or benefits from handling this case, nor compensation from Tangmo’s family, but is committed to seeing the country’s justice system uphold standards and gain public trust.
Regarding reports that the global streaming platform Netflix has requested to interview Tangmo’s mother, Mr. Panthip revealed that she has been ill and is not yet ready for interviews. Therefore, discussions have been postponed due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation. He reaffirmed hope for uncovering the truth and pledged to continue gathering information to provide to relevant agencies to ensure a thorough and fair examination of all facts.
