Recently at Wat Thap Kradan in Song Phi Nong District, Suphanburi Province, where the 34th anniversary memorial event is held, honoring the Queen of Luk Thung, Phumphuang Duangchan, the temple scheduled the event from 11 to 19 June 2026. However, this year was special as they opened the stage for "Nong Tonkao Supreeya" to perform before the main event, because she had no availability during the official dates.
Tonkao, along with her father, mother, and Kru New, arrived at 17:00 and brought garlands to pay respects at the ashes of the Luk Thung Queen, Phumphuang Duangchan. Afterwards, they distributed food offerings including bread, sticky rice with pork, orange juice, and squid—1,000 pieces each. Fans also joined in giving food to Phumphuang’s fans and to those waiting to see Tonkao. They then donated 18,000 baht to Phra Athikan Prasong Kunakaro, abbot of Wat Thap Kradan, on behalf of the fan club.
Additionally, Tonkao drew a lucky number from a traditional lottery bag, sharing the number "853" with her fans.
Tonkao said that attending this year’s memorial event for Mae Phueng made her very happy. She expressed gratitude to all the temple committee members and the abbot. Upon arriving by van, she was surprised to see so many fans waiting even before the event started and thanked everyone warmly.
When asked if she represents the younger generation in Luk Thung music, Tonkao replied, “I still consider myself just a part of the Luk Thung community. I want everyone to help preserve Luk Thung music, whether it’s the regional accents or the traditional songs. I hope all fans will continue to follow Tonkao Supreeya and the other artists.”
“Mae Phueng’s songs are the ultimate masterpieces. I can’t compare myself to her, but I just want to be part of preserving and appreciating Luk Thung music and to share my love for Mae Phueng. I hope fans will join me in keeping Luk Thung alive. Comparing myself to Mae Phueng isn’t possible—I’m not that skilled—but because of my passion, I want to encourage fans to protect this music.”
Tonkao opened the concert dressed in a tiger-print outfit, performing songs such as “The World of Phueng,” “Sleeping Listening to the Electric Sound,” “Waiting Glass,” “Come Closer,” “The Farm Girl Orders Her Boyfriend,” and many more. She also changed into an outfit resembling one Phumphuang once wore on the famous music stage in the past.
Also present were Pum, Kraisorn Saenganan, and Lukphet Phumphuang, who came to support Tonkao, presenting her with a silver garland and bouquet to thank her for helping continue Mae Phueng’s legacy. They invited fans of Mae Phueng to come enjoy concerts by many artists and shop from famous artist influencers, as well as local vendors from Suphanburi Province during the event from 11 to 19 June.
