A grand spectacle shakes the World Heritage city! The “Ayutthaya Pride 2026” festival of pride was organized by the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Administrative Organization in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). Under the concept “Pride Across Time,” it transforms the historic old capital into a rainbow runway, opening a stage for equality and spreading love to all genders and ages.
Mrs. Somsong Phanjaroenworakul, President of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Administrative Organization, presided over the opening ceremony, joined by government agencies, private sectors, students, and well-known celebrities who gathered in large numbers to celebrate and demonstrate the power of equality. Beyond the pride celebration, attendees united to pay homage and express condolences for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, reflecting deep gratitude for her benevolence. The opening included a dignified tribute ceremony to honor her memory, expressing loyalty and remembering her kindness alongside creative and beautiful displays of equality.
The event featured beloved LGBTQ icons “Anna Suengam-iam,” Miss Universe Thailand 2022, and “Nara Crepe Katoey,” a famous influencer, who strutted the old capital’s runway showing their true selves. Alongside actors and celebrities, they collectively showcased equality to the world and officially introduced “Nong Saimai” as Ayutthaya’s new cultural ambassador.
The event concluded with a concert by legendary icon “Hai Arpaporn Nakornsawan,” who shared the power of love through hit songs that uplifted and promoted pride among the rainbow community and all attendees, creating beautiful, memorable moments for Ayutthaya. This fulfilled the slogan, “The old capital will never be the same again.”
Anna Suengam-iam, Miss Universe Thailand 2022, said of the event, “I feel honored to help create a new historical chapter for Ayutthaya today. The energy from thousands of people here proves that ‘equality’ knows no barriers. Our precious old city is ready to embrace diversity and move forward beautifully.”
Anna expressed admiration for the fashion showcased, saying, “Everyone gave their all today, from reimagining Thai fabrics into elegant, powerful Soft Power designs, to bold, boundary-free fantasy costumes. Everyone dared to be confident and proud of their unique selves. I believe this positive energy and vibrant color are Soft Power that will make the world see Ayutthaya and Thailand from a fresh, open, and inviting perspective.”
Thus, Ayutthaya Pride 2026 is not merely a one-day celebration but a landmark declaration that Ayutthaya is a city of equality, ready to welcome everyone from all nations with endless friendship and love.”
