Previously, Thanya Thanyares announced the sale of her luxurious lakeside mansion in Bangkok, situated on over 1.5 rai of land. The house is designed in a European Classic Mansion style and is listed at 39 million baht. This caused quite a stir among netizens. Recently, at the blessing ceremony for “Thai Interpreter and Bossy Man Say You Love Me, My Bossy” at ESC STUDIO, she opened up about the reasons behind her decision to sell this house at a loss of more than 11 million baht, saying,
"Can you tell us about the house sale announcement?"
"Yes, I am selling it. It was originally used for renting out as a filming location. But now, with fewer dramas being made and everyone moving to Rangsit and ESC Studio, I felt it was better to sell that property."
"Do you regret selling since the mansion is so beautiful?"
"Yes, I do regret it, but I don’t use it much, and I don’t visit often, so I feel it’s better to let it go and maybe someone else will make good use of it."
"Have there been any inquiries yet?"
"Yes, there have been several viewings. (It’s said you’re selling at a big loss, right?) Actually, it’s quite a loss, but with the current economy, no one would buy if I priced it higher."
"Is it hard to accept selling at such a big loss?"
"I’ve been thinking about it for many years, but I wanted to try and see if I could use the money for something else. (How big is the loss?) I invested 50 million baht but am selling for 39 million."
"Has anyone interested stood out to you yet?"
"There have been many, including foreigners, but no decision yet. There have been many price negotiations, so I’m holding off for now."
"Do you have to be selective about the buyer since you might care about the house?"
"I believe the buyer must genuinely want the house because I put a lot of thought into it from the start. I personally chose the land since this was the first house I built for filming. I even presented this idea to my father and brother Pek, which eventually led to the creation of ESC Studio with a similar concept."
"How old is this house now?"
"It’s been 10 years, quite old. (Are you selling because you fear it might deteriorate without use?) Actually, there is someone taking care of it, but over the years, it still needs renovations and repainting."
"So now you’re waiting for a new owner?"
"Yes, but if no one buys, it’s okay. I’ll keep it in case in the future Liya might want to live there. It’s peaceful, like a vacation home with very fresh air."
"Have you asked Liya if she’s interested in the house?"
"She’s still a teenager now, so probably not interested yet, but that might change as she gets older."
