For the first time, "Captain Chang Krisada Wongkaew" openly shares his heartfelt love story. He reveals the sweetest moment when he asked "Lamyai Hithongkham" to be his girlfriend. He also recounts the beginning of their relationship, starting from a message sent out of concern about her car being wheel-locked, leading to growing feelings and becoming a couple closely watched by many. He explains why this love works well and his role as a generous boyfriend who fully supports both Lamyai and her team.
What sparked this love story?
"I was in Singapore for a football show. After landing, I checked the internet and the first news I saw was about her car being wheel-locked at Banthat Thong. So, I sent her a direct message asking if that was true. She said yes, and that started our conversation. We already followed each other on Instagram and had messaged before, but never flirted—just knew each other."
Had you liked her before?
"No, I never tried to flirt or focus on her romantically. Later, she performed at a concert, and we talked and met. One day after her work, I asked if she'd eaten since I knew she liked noodles. I recommended a noodle shop in Ngam Wong Wan that stays open late and is tasty. She said she had no friends to go with, so I offered to join. Honestly, I was sincere and not trying to flirt."
Did you feel a spark when you took her for noodles?
"Not yet. The shop was closed, so we drove around to find food and ended up eating near Huai Khwang. We also visited a temple and kept talking more after that. Since then, we’ve talked every day."
How was the moment when you asked to be boyfriend and girlfriend? Who asked whom?
"After dinner one day, I asked if she had a boyfriend. She said no, so I felt the way was clear and straightforwardly asked, ‘Will you be my girlfriend?’ She replied, ‘Are you asking me out?’ I said yes. Later, I saw her interview with the media."
Did she tell you before the interview?
"She was filming and a reporter interviewed her. Then she sent me the link to watch."
How did you feel when you heard Lamyai say she was dating you?
"I was happy. I didn’t expect her to say that since we hadn’t talked long, but it made me very glad."
How long did you talk before becoming a couple?
"We started chatting briefly from 20 April, about 10 days after my birthday, before officially becoming a couple."
What do you think won her heart?
"I honestly don’t know."
Have you asked her why she likes you?
"Never asked. We live normally. I think she probably likes that I’m hardworking, cute, and sincere."
Captain Chang, is it true that Lamyai gets easily irritated?
"Yes, if something bothers her, she complains. Like when driving and someone cuts in front or doesn’t use turn signals, she grumbles."
Between you and Lamyai, who is calmer?
"Me. I’m naturally calm and avoid conflicts."
Do you get jealous?
"No, because I understand her work. We each give each other freedom professionally."
Did your friends send many messages when you went public?
"Mostly teasing about how hard it is to catch me. I didn’t reply, just stayed quiet."
Have you met teacher Prajakchai Hithongkham?
"Yes, twice. Once at a friend's ordination event where Lamyai performed and he was there. He greeted me, hugged me, and said something like ‘Please take care of my daughter.’"
Having Lamyai as your girlfriend—she’s beautiful, hardworking, talented, and among the top female luk thung singers. Are you proud?
"I’m very proud of her. She’s a capable and very charming woman."
Lamyai said you support her a lot?
"That’s normal. When we eat, I take care of her. It’s basic for a man."
Do you send food to support her when she works out of town?
"Yes. Since I’m an athlete with many friends and relatives in the provinces, if she wants something, I ask someone to buy it or send local specialties to her and her team. But not too much—just enough."
What are your hopes for this relationship?
"If possible, I want it to last long, but I live day by day. If plans don’t work out, I don’t know. I think being happy every day is enough."
Do you often attend her concerts?
"If I’m free or done selling my stuff and she’s performing in Bangkok or nearby provinces, I go watch and pick her up. But if it’s far away, I might not."
