Best Kamsing: I’ve been teased since I was a child. Like on my father’s birthday, I took and posted hundreds of photos on Facebook. One day, while eating at the marble table at school, friends surrounded me like they wanted to pick a fight. They said, 'Why do you post so many photos? Why are you showing off your father?' I was confused. That’s what I faced as a child, so since then I stopped posting pictures with my father.
Finally, did the accusation of riding on her father’s fame become a wound in her heart?
Best Kamsing: When I grew up and became an actress, some people in the industry said I lacked a character.
Somrak Kamsing: Now even I get criticized.
Best was judged as ungrateful?
Best Kamsing: In that interview, they asked if I would help or not. I said I told my father I wouldn’t help anymore. When that aired, people misunderstood it as if we had cut ties between father and daughter.
Even the father wondered why his daughter said that?
Somrak Kamsing: I called to ask what she said. 'That wasn’t nice to say,' I told her.
Best Kamsing: My father even called to scold me first.
Are you worried about carrying the entire family burden alone, and that the way you used to provide may no longer be possible, that it might become too much to bear?
Best Kamsing: I am worried. Being the main support is very tiring. But the more I think about it, I respect my father a lot because he earns money from boxing, which is harder than what I do. Talking about this makes me want to cry—I'm very sensitive about this. When I sit in a cool place earning money, I think about how hard my father works to earn his. So when I think about his struggle, how can I feel tired?
Do you have a specific type for a son-in-law?
Somrak Kamsing: Like Somrak Kamsing himself.
Best Kamsing: Then anyone is fine.
Currently divorced but still living in the same house, and everyone wants you to reconcile?
Somrak Kamsing: I buy food for her every day.
Best Kamsing: But I don’t support it. This is my father’s perspective, but from my partner’s side, he says we shouldn’t go back to an ex. We have lived through everything together—how they lied and apologized. It’s better to learn from new people.
If the case is resolved, will you remarry?
Somrak Kamsing: Absolutely.
You don’t support going back to an ex, but can you be friends with an ex?
Best Kamsing: Yes, you can.
Somrak Kamsing: Better not to be friends with exes.
Somrak, you once faced a serious physical health crisis?
Somrak Kamsing: Yes, I was very stressed, couldn’t sleep, smoked a lot through the night. One morning, while watching the news, my phone slipped from my hand. I felt weak, and then I fell asleep. My nephew noticed and said, 'Uncle, why is your mouth crooked?' I was even drooling. Then I went to the hospital. When I woke up, I was in the ICU.
What did the doctors say you had?
Best Kamsing: A brain blood vessel blockage. When they allowed visits to the ICU, we went in and saw my father crying—he was scared.
On days when everyone sees you as strong, but you say you are very sensitive. When you are weak or emotional, who do you show it to?
Best Kamsing: Only myself. I rarely cry in front of my parents, brother, or friends. I cry alone and then pull myself together, patting my own shoulder every night, telling myself it’s okay.
