After facing a major storm of news, recently Tintin New Country or Tintin Charaswee Thiamrat has returned to working in the entertainment industry. Tintin presented the SOT MUSIC AWARDS 2026 at ONE BANGKOK FORUM TECA and gave an interview about New Country’s future and the upcoming DNA test results. He revealed that his mental state has greatly improved. This drama made him more cautious in life. He admitted to crying deeply, fearing he had disappointed those he loves.
Where is New Country headed next?
“Lately, we’ve been practicing playing instruments. We want to form a band to play music together someday. Akot has supported us to practice playing instruments. As for regrouping the three members, we haven't thought about that yet. We just want to play music together and keep trying things out.”
“Regarding contract renewal, we've been thinking since early this year that we want more freedom to try new things. Over the past five years with Grammy, it has always felt warm. But the decision among the three of us is that we might not renew with Grammy. I still want to sing as before; my life will still revolve around singing and playing music, but you might see new sides of me.”
“The contract expires around October. We have talked as a group since we've been together for five years. Each of us has plans for our paths. Honestly, after five years with all six members of New Country, we've been through a lot together. It’s a bit sad, but we’ve discussed how to move forward. The past five years are good memories we want to keep. We've been talking about working separately since the start of the year. Akot has regularly checked in on how we’re doing, how we plan our lives. The recent news didn't affect the contract decision; it was planned long ago.”
Are you going to form a duo with Neo, since he’s gaining popularity?
“With Neo? He was sulking earlier. If Neo is involved, that would be great—I do feel lonely sometimes. We have sung together before. If one day we release a single together, it wouldn’t be surprising. When we're at the tattoo shop, we secretly record and write songs. He’s always with me. If asked whether we might release a single together, I think so, because Neo really likes singing. When we casually make music, we help each other think and create. If someone supports us or the opportunity arises, you might see a single from us together. Thanks to everyone for the support.”
Are you okay being “NoeTintin”?
“I’m totally fine with it. I've been NoeTintin for a long time. (Don’t you want to be TintinNoe sometimes?) What does that mean? (The hero is in front, the lead male in the back, you understand?) If NoeTintin means I’m the lead male, I’m not sure. (Laughs) Are you judging behavior? I never think about it. When we’re together, it feels like close friends; I’ve never thought about it that way.”
“As for chemistry, singing, and exchanging glances, I’m not sure if I feel it, but I do enjoy working and singing with him. We've had this dynamic for years, so I don’t think much about it. Looking at each other while singing love songs feels normal. I really don’t know. (Laughs)”
“I know about the shipping buzz but think of us more like friends; nothing more than that. About the BL series, I don’t know if the boss was serious. If work comes, I’m ready to work with Neo. He’s one of my best friends, and I think we’d do well together. (Can you kiss a friend?) Can I answer that later? (Laughs) I need to think about it. I’ve never done that kind of thing before. I’ve seen some, but please don’t ask too much, I’m shy. Don’t stare at me. (Laughs) I’m shy, but I can act it out.”
You’ve had many joint projects lately. How was the recent live show?
“There have been many joint jobs. I’m adjusting since I usually never do live streams. Neo is very talkative and the lively spirit of the house. He’s just himself. I’m trying to adapt because I’m not very talkative. But with him, things become easier. We meet at the venue, like you saw in the live stream. That’s normal for us. Our sync is automatic; we don’t plan anything. We’re often together and know what he’ll say or do.”
How many projects have you lined up now?
“There are some jobs, but I can still handle them steadily. Do I enjoy this kind of work? Usually, I’m with my New Country friends. This is a new feeling, doing joint projects with Neo. I like it a lot. He’s one of my closest friends. I like it; you can hire me again. (Laughs) It’s fun.”
There will be a fan meeting organized by the boss?
“I’m excited because it’s the first time. Everything happened so suddenly. The boss proposed it, and we’re happy to have our first fan meeting. Neo was jumping for joy (laughs). He was very happy. He often tells me he dreams of being an artist and loves singing. He’s said for a long time that one day we must share the stage and sing together. Just the other day, he said, ‘See? One day we’ll sing together.’ We’re currently discussing plans.”
Now that the ship has sailed, does it put pressure on you two?
“Are people expecting moments? I don’t really focus on that. I’m just myself; he’s just himself. But everyone is watching the shipping moments; I don’t know about that. Am I ready to serve? Always ready, all the time. Neo is fully committed to work. He’s a fun, party person. It’s fun to be with him.”
How do you view this buzz? Some might see it as drama, but you accepted the work anyway?
“I see it as an opportunity. Even in bad things, there’s something good. Personally, if you only look at the bad, you’ll only encounter bad. If you look for the good, you’ll find the good. I think it’s no different here. We keep moving forward.”
About Akot Jakrapan’s rule against lying?
“Since being with Akot’s label, the rule against lying has impacted many things, like rest and vocal readiness. So when we talk about anything, we never lie because we share the same dream and try to move forward together. Everyone must be honest. Akot always tells us this because it affects the team and how he plans. He teaches us to always love each other. Passing through the label involves training and constant support. When someone cries or feels discouraged, we are a team. We are together and can do it. That’s what Akot teaches. Actually, Akot wants us to separate work from personal matters. We rarely go out, so not much happens.”
The DNA test results on 2 July are approaching.
“In a few days, we’ll know. We’re waiting like everyone else. The most definitive thing is the scientific result. Now, I try not to think too much. We have to keep working. I update my family all the time. Everyone sends encouragement not to worry. I want to thank everyone, especially Akot and Amad, who keep supporting and advising me. We’ll wait together on 2 July.”
Are you smiling more now?
“That’s right. I smile more now. I have people who love and support me. As they say, even in bad times, there is good. I check feedback sometimes. I try to keep busy, like playing and practicing music. Akot calls me every day to ask how I’m doing and to chat about this and that, even before this issue blew up.”},{
After things started to settle, what did you tell yourself?
“I think this was a big life lesson for me. It might have changed my perspective and made me mature to another level. I feel it will affect my life going forward. I’m not good with social media; I only started using it with Akot. What eased me was the people pushing and supporting me, like Amad, my manager, who gives advice, and Akot, who cared a lot and asked for the truth of what happened. I had to explain everything to Akot. That helped lighten my heart.”
How much have you eased emotionally?
“At first, it was 100% heavy; now it’s about 90%. I tend to overthink and keep questioning myself, just like everyone else asks. I don’t focus much on ‘moving on’ because some things don’t need moving on. I think this taught me lessons, what should and shouldn’t be done. From now on, I’ll live more thoughtfully. Maybe I’ve passed the Tintin childhood phase; now I have to be a responsible adult.”
How is your family?
“My family is normally strict, especially my mother, who is very strict. But she calls every day to check on me and encourages me in every job, every live, every concert. I once wondered if my mother loved me because she was so strict. But when this happened, she worried about me the most. In the end, even in bad times, there’s something good.”
Did you cry?
“Actually, I’m not a sensitive person and rarely cry in life. This is probably one of the few times I cried. Seeing people who have pushed and nurtured me, expecting me to go far, but I made mistakes that might have disappointed them, this was sensitive for me. But it all happened on a show, and it overwhelmed me before it even started. I think the tears were of sorrow. I didn’t want to disappoint the fans who love and support me or Akot, Amad, and my family. So I had to speak out to clarify.”
Today, I want to say I may have matured another step, maybe this is another chapter of Tintin’s life. Thank you for the support, care, and encouragement all along. I’m very grateful for everything and for the love given.”
Will you be more cautious about people from now on?
“I’ve been hurt badly. (Laughs) About trusting people, many have warned me. I’m a positive thinker and like to help those in trouble. Sometimes I shouldn’t, or maybe I need to be more careful and consult those around me more.”
