At polling station 57 in Bang Chak Subdistrict, Phra Khanong District, Bangkok, located at the Sukjai Village community tent, local eligible voters began casting their ballots for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council members and governor elections.
Officials were on hand to assist voters, with lists of candidates for council members and governor posted prominently at the voting site for public review before entering the booths. Election committee members and police maintained order, with voting open from 08:00 to 17:00 as per legal requirements.
Meanwhile, at 09:00, "Brother Bird Thongchai McIntyre" arrived to vote at this polling station as voter number 299. Observers noted that his right arm was injured and treated after his recent concert, wearing a soft cast to support the arm during recovery.
Later, Bird Thongchai explained in an interview that the soft cast on his arm was due to injuries from his last concert, involving five puncture wounds for treatment because of a torn ligament. Doctors advised him to avoid exertion, limiting movement and speech.
Regarding the Bangkok governor and council member elections, he said he chose candidates who "speak honestly and follow through." When asked how many times he had voted, Bird replied, “Wow, you ask and answer yourself.” Last year the weather was unfavorable due to rain, but this year it was dry.
He expressed hope that while past issues couldn't be completely fixed, mistakes could be reduced. Noting the growing elderly population alongside ever-taller buildings, he said deteriorating roads may need improvement. He also valued green spaces and recreational areas for everyone.
He added a message to the incoming Bangkok governor: "Love us, we love you." He invited everyone to participate in this election, emphasizing that the public should decide what kind of Bangkok they want, who they want to care for them, and thanked his fans for their concern, expecting to recover in about four months.
