An online story has garnered widespread admiration on social media after a Facebook user named Moo Patsamon shared the account of "Dr. Kong, Dr. Sorawit Suboon" an actor and military doctor who helped a patient suffering from convulsions with bleeding in the mouth, who collapsed on the floor inside a popular shopping mall. Dr. Kong, who was nearby, promptly provided initial assistance.
"The incident occurred yesterday at The Mall Ngamwongwan. While walking along the mall corridor, we heard a commotion ahead. A person was lying on the floor with a couple trying to help. Looking closer, we saw a lot of blood at the mouth (later learned it was a seizure). The couple shouted loudly for security guards. I quickly said, 'I will go get help.' Many kind-hearted people ran to assist, and the security guards arrived with first aid equipment, followed by other staff.
Amid the chaos, a man hurriedly approached and knelt beside the patient. He was Dr. Kong, someone we have admired for a long time. Dr. Kong was in the right place at the right time – very fortunate for the patient. He began checking the patient’s condition. Within 10 seconds, a crowd gathered, so I stepped back with a photo of the doctor.
Years ago, we admired Dr. Kong for openly honoring King Rama IX during times when some groups tried to undermine the King's legacy. That admiration led us to follow him ever since, and even now, we enjoy his short, humorous clips with friends.
We hope the patient from yesterday is safe and recovers quickly. We ask permission to share the photo of Dr. Kong."
Additionally, the Facebook page of the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) 1669 posted a message praising Dr. Kong and the impressive incident, calling him a timely coat-wearing hero. They also commended all good Samaritans who helped coordinate the call for emergency staff and first aid teams promptly.
