CUU Thailand Announces Three Major Flagship Series to Promote Thai Local Content and Export Thai Artists to the Chinese Market

The Thai entertainment industry is shaken once again as newcomer content producer CUU Thailand launches a bold Thai content initiative with the grand unveiling of their “CUU Thailand Line Up 2026-2027.” They introduce three flagship series showcasing diverse genres, starting with the multiverse series “Love Destiny” (Bupphesanniwat), a new BL universe starring August Wachirawit Paisankulwong and Leng Thanapol Uasinthasap. Also announced are the GL series “Love Above The Clouds” starring Thisa Waritthisa Limthammahisorn and Anna Suengamiam, and the BL series “Halley Between Us” set to debut soon. CUU Thailand revealed an aggressive strategy to promote Thai Local Content by leveraging six lead actors from these three series to expand into China’s entertainment business. Leading this initiative is the much-anticipated “Love Destiny” BL remake as the flagship Thai production for the Chinese market. Alongside this, CUU Thailand is using music marketing by having lead actors August and Leng record Chinese songs in collaboration with Tencent Music to further penetrate the Chinese market.

CUU Thailand’s parent company is based in Beijing, China, and boasts strong partnerships within the Chinese entertainment industry to fully support the development of CUU Thailand’s artists and productions. This reinforces the company’s image as a leading expert producer with robust networks both domestically and internationally. The launch event was honored by the presence of Aticha Kwankong, Content Partnerships Manager from iQIYI Thailand, and Chakrit Direkwatthanachai, Deputy Managing Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications at BEC World Public Company Limited. The event was hosted by Arm Korkan Sutthikoses. After the event, CUU Thailand’s CEO, Boom Phlatphon Mingpornphichit, shared the company’s vision.

"Since CUU Thailand’s headquarters are in Beijing, our content and business development focus on Thai Local Content that appeals to Chinese audiences’ tastes. Chinese viewers already have an affinity for Thai people, Thai actors, Thai artists, and Thai lifestyle and culture. We began with original content by remaking the well-known Thai drama “Love Destiny” into a Boys' Love version, marking a noteworthy debut for a new company attracting attention in the BL content market and industry as seen in news and social media. We are serious about quality and business opportunities to expand Thai artists’ careers in China and internationally. We meticulously select actors, even supporting roles, using a different style of casting compared to others. For lead actors signed with us, we aim to craft Thai artists’ works to improve continuously. We seek potential talents who can develop, including appearances that suit Chinese tastes, because our goal is to expand actors into the Chinese entertainment industry. August and Leng debut in China by singing the Chinese soundtrack for the Love Destiny BL series. Being backed by a Chinese parent company gives us strong partners in China to fully support the growth of CUU Thailand’s artists and productions."

For 2026–2027, CUU Thailand plans a focused production slate. Besides Love Destiny, they will launch their first Girls’ Love series titled “Love Above The Clouds,” adapted from a popular Thai yuri novel online, starring Thisa and Anna in their first female-female romantic pairing. Additionally, two more Boys’ Love series will start filming, continuing with new actors from Love Destiny. The company will also acquire Korean variety program licenses to produce shows in Thailand featuring both Thai and Chinese artists. There are plans for mass-appeal Thai films telling culturally resonant stories aimed at Thai audiences and designed to appeal to Chinese viewers. All these will be released within 2026–2027. Overall, while the volume of series, films, and variety shows may not be large in two years, Thai audiences will witness CUU Thailand artists growing confidently in the Chinese entertainment industry.

“Love Destiny” (Bupphesanniwat) is an international mega-project based on the highly successful IP by Rompaeng, reimagined as a BL series retaining its romantic comedy style set in a modern period that narrates the story.

This causes Paodet (August Wachirawit), a former enemy who once hated him, to begin seeing him differently. Their bond gradually turns into love despite the era’s limitations and unpredictable fate.

“Love Above The Clouds” is a large-scale romantic suspense/action drama series adapted from the novel “Luang Rak Game Nuea Mek.” It features a high-quality production team and star-studded cast including Thisa Waritthisa Limthammahisorn and Anna Suengamiam in their first Girls’ Love roles, alongside industry veteran Ploy Chermalyn Boonyasak, portraying a love story amidst thrilling drama.
