Uncle Rong Jaturong Shares Online Shopping Mishaps, Warns Fans to Check Reviews Before Buying

The latest victim of online marketing scams is the famous comedian. "Uncle Rong Jaturong Photaram" Recently, he opened up to "Thairath Entertainment" sharing a funny yet painful experience after ordering online but receiving items that did not match the descriptions at all. He said that if there were a platform run by Thai people, he would want to check it first and read reviews because he no longer trusts anything.

Have you ever had an experience where online purchases did not match what was advertised?

"Oh, just recently. Before that, I ordered mirrors for a homestay room. In the pictures, they were large mirrors, about 50 cm by 60 cm, for face reflection. I bought 10 pieces at a certain price, expecting them to be big. But when they arrived, it was a small box with tiny mirrors, and yes, all 10 pieces were there. They really sent me all 10. I even posted about it, and people came to see it a lot. I just laughed it off."

How much did it cost?

"It was a moderate price, around a thousand baht. The pictures looked nice, but the delivered mirrors were some kind of reflective glass that you can't use to look at your face. That happened about 4-5 months ago. I posted it, and many people saw and commented. So even though I didn't get the mirrors I wanted, I did get lots of attention."

Recently, something even funnier happened. Have you seen on Facebook ads offering beautiful fake teeth? They show perfect dentures, with any style and nice gum color. You just soak them in hot water and put them on, and they make your smile look great, like Korean celebrities. I thought it looked good and wasn't wary, so I ordered some for about 600 to nearly 690 baht.

I ordered to see if just soaking and wearing them would really make my smile look as nice as in the pictures. They did send something, and the box showed beautiful teeth on the cover. But when I opened it, it looked like vampire teeth kids wear, but without the fangs, and there were pink-colored teeth too.

Soaking them did nothing. They were very hard and didn't fit. When I walked, they started falling off. The teeth were not even properly shaped. The colors alternated between white and pink, and it looked awful when worn. So remember, anyone watching Uncle Rong, don't buy those fake beautiful teeth they advertise."

If a Thai online platform launched selling genuine products, would that be okay?

"Can I check it out first? I want to see the details and if real people have ordered. Honestly, 50% of the time, I can't trust it because of lies. For example, if you see a beautiful chair that makes you happy to sit in it, but when it arrives, it's not the same chair at all. Shirts and pants are the same—look great in pictures but are like market stall products in reality. So, I don't really trust anymore."
