Sarayut Explains for Nose Udom on Being Defrauded, Describes Two Employees Embezzling Over 100 Million Baht Leading to Debt and Borrowing Outside the System

After Nose Udom appeared on the program "Worker News: Offscreen Talk" hosted by Sarayut Suttasnanajinda, and spoke about losing everything, being defrauded of over 100 million baht, going into debt to the point of having to mortgage his house, and then organizing "Solo 16" called "Mic Off Debt," many people wondered if this story was true.

Recently, Sarayut has come forward to explain on behalf of Nose Udom on the program "Saturday Story" on Channel 3, confirming that the earlier story is true. However, he clarified that there are two separate incidents: one involving a close female employee holding a credit card who used about 10 million baht, and another involving a specialist investment manager who embezzled over 100 million baht.

Sarayut said that Nose Udom had a close female employee who was trusted with the credit card, but she used it on her own, including withdrawing cash and making purchases. By the time Nose Udom realized it, approximately 10 million baht had been lost.

Initially, he suspected it was this person, but after further investigation, another person was involved. The credit card issue was one matter, and the other, more recent issue involved Nose Udom hiring a financial and investment management manager, supposedly recruited from a bank based on recommendations. This was to manage and invest his assets, allowing the money to work through trading stocks and cryptocurrencies.

It turned out that after working together for three years, this trusted male employee, who was supposed to look after the saved money for investment, reacted negatively when asked to provide account statements, implying distrust. This male employee was different from the female employee who embezzled the credit card funds.

Before the police arrested him, it was found that the male employee had collaborated with his wife, who has since fled. The male employee, who worked for Nose Udom's company, embezzled about 100 million baht of lifelong savings intended for investments in stocks and various cryptocurrencies. He confessed to transferring the money into his own account to gamble online. His wife escaped, and when arrested, he claimed the money was gone, lost to online gambling.

The male suspect has never been granted bail since his arrest. Recently, the lower court sentenced him to the maximum legal penalty of 20 years imprisonment for embezzlement and fraud. Although the offenses could amount to up to 100 years in total, the law limits imprisonment to a maximum of 20 years. He has been in prison since his arrest.

As for Nose Udom, his lifelong savings were wiped out, and his company faced severe liquidity issues. He had to mortgage three houses because banks would not approve loans using his houses as collateral. Eventually, he resorted to borrowing from informal lenders with less harsh interest rates. The creditors demanded full repayment by October, which led to the creation of "Solo 16: Mic Off Debt."
