It was a spectacular moment that amazed Thai audiences, featuring Nene Royal a 16-year-old girl from Phuket who traveled to compete on America’s Got Talent on NBC in the United States, performing "Zombie" by The Cranberries for her audition. Nene delivered a full performance, singing and playing guitar, which went viral and caused a buzz online.
Looking back to the "Super10" competition on 28 May 2022, when Nene Royal also known as young Praew Rattikan Amlai then 12 years old, this young girl impressed all three judges, Teacher Ngo Rassukon, Pong Kapol, and Senahoy, with her skills. On that day, Praew, or Nene, chose to perform "Back in Black," showcasing both her singing and guitar playing.
She then gave a special performance playing the guitar on the song "The One and Only," accompanied by legendary singer Pu Anchalee Jongkadeekij, the original artist, who joined to showcase her powerful vocals. The performance wowed the audience.
Pu Anchalee said about Praew, "It's a great honor. I feel like, wow, what a miraculous child. When I was that age, I dreamed of this. You have made my dream come true. Amazing. I wish you great success," before Praew respectfully thanked her.
When the host asked Pu Anchalee to give advice and blessings, she said, "As for advice about skills, at 11-12 years old, she’s already this good. She will develop on her own, but I hope she finds her own style. Each year, she should gain more experience. She’s not just a talented guitarist from Phuket or Thailand—she will go international. Trust me."
Pu Anchalee then presented a small gift, handing Praew a guitar pick and saying, "In case you become famous, don’t forget that I gave you this pick." Praew smiled happily, accepting it with a respectful gesture of thanks.
The host asked Praew if she wanted to say anything to Pu Anchalee. Praew replied, "Thank you so much for featuring with me. Thank you very much." Pu Anchalee responded warmly, "You’re very welcome."
Teacher Ngo commented, "Today you showed us that music has no gender, age, or race. Your presentation is not just skill but genuine musical spirit. You’re a true rocker and you enjoy it. When you enjoy it, you practice more, and practicing makes you better. This applies to everything in life. If you want success, put your heart into it and keep doing it. We look forward to seeing you reach the world stage. Go for it." Praew bowed and thanked them.
