Pageant fans were left wondering what had happened when the Supranational Thailand 2026 organization issued a statement announcing the dismissal of “Ai Kanyalak Nukaew” also known as “Ai Kan” from her position as Miss Supranational Thailand 2026 and immediately ending her status as Thailand’s representative in the Miss Supranational 2026 competition, even though Ai Kanyalak had already packed and was preparing to travel to the pageant in Poland.
The pageant organization explained the reason for the dismissal as "the result of an internal investigation which found violations of the pageant’s rules, regulations, and conditions, as well as providing false information to the organization, which is considered a breach of duty and trust required of the titleholder."
Additionally, the organization confirmed that there will be no new representative appointed for Thailand in Miss Supranational 2026, meaning Thailand will not have a contestant in this year’s pageant.
This announcement shocked many pageant fans, as Ai Kanyalak was previously one of the most supported contestants and was widely expected to perform well on the international stage this year.
Following the announcement, Ai Kanyalak posted on her personal Facebook account with a crying emoji, then wrote, "I want to sincerely thank all my supporters and those who have encouraged me. Whatever the reason, I believe this is a matter of fate. I prepared very hard to pursue my dream, but when I couldn’t make it there,
I do not blame anyone. Since the situation has happened, and no one wants problems to arise, perhaps there was some miscommunication or misunderstanding. My life must go on. I am grateful for all the support. This is an important life experience for me, but it will not make me give up. I will be strong and move forward. Thank you all so much."
Many followers commented with messages of encouragement for Ai Kan, such as: "If the timing’s right, just go for Road to [Miss Universe Thailand]. Keep fighting, girl!", "Road to MUT is an option; several provinces are still open for registration.", "Stay strong, Ai Kan family!", "Hugs to you, Ai. Love and support always.", "Hugs and encouragement, beautiful."
