Git from Three Man Down Speaks Out: The Risks Musicians Face, Urges Venue Owners and Organizers to Prioritize Safety

Following the tragic fire at a brewery in the Lat Phrao area that resulted in numerous injuries and deaths, many in the entertainment industry have spoken out, revealing the risks involved when performing at entertainment venues or festivals. Most recently, Git from Thee Man Down also stepped forward to share his views on the matter.

“I want to be one voice representing those who work in these kinds of venues. Today, entertainment venues and festivals are dangerous places. Musicians and workers there have been trying to communicate this for a long time, but it has been ineffective. When we speak up, we face backlash and are accused of being difficult or lacking spirit. In truth, there are many issues.

- No emergency exits

- Electrical leaks on stage

- Poor ventilation

- Unsafe stage structures (P'Jeng has experienced this)

- Weapons and security issues (P'E Jaikorn also faced this)

- Safety of effects (fireworks, smoke, etc. I've become used to it)

- Kitchen location and ventilation

- During rain or Songkran Festival, they say no spraying but then spray anyway. If we stop the show, we get scolded.

We have been trying to communicate all along. I offer my sincere condolences regarding this tragedy and hope for greater change. Please, from the bottom of my heart, pay more attention to safety—both owners and organizers. If there are criticisms or concerns, please listen openly before accusing us of being difficult.”
