On the morning of 14 Jul 2026 at Building 1, Government House, Nene Royal also known as Praew Rattikan Amloy, a 16-year-old female youth artist from Phuket, who competed on “America’s Got Talent,” met with Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
During this visit to Government House, Nene performed the song “Som San” by the band LOSO on guitar for the Prime Minister and ministers. The Prime Minister sang along with Nene, as did several ministers. Nene also showcased her guitar solo skills.
Then Nene sang and played guitar to “Zombie” by The Cranberries, the song she used in the "America’s Got Talent" audition round, which went viral online. Afterwards, the Prime Minister presented her with a commemorative gift and posed for photos together, making the rock hand sign. Ministers also took photos with Nene, offering blessings and encouragement.
Meanwhile, Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, revealed that the Prime Minister saw Nene’s audition clip on 8 Jul while on duty in Malaysia. Impressed by her bringing fame to Thailand, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to find ways to promote and support Nene, leading to today’s event. He added the government will fully cover all competition expenses and help promote voting among Americans, since only Americans can vote.
At the same time, Nene Royal asked Thai people to follow her social media channels and support her by voting. She expressed thanks for the ongoing support. When asked if she was surprised by her overnight fame, she said she wasn’t even aware of how big it had become—it happened too fast.
Nene admitted her life has changed a lot, with people recognizing her everywhere, unlike before when she could relax and enjoy outings. She joked that now she can’t even buy meatballs on the street freely. Her ultimate dream is to become a world-class artist, create her own music, and tour. She already has 2-3 songs ready, which will be released soon.
When asked why she emphasizes being from Phuket rather than just Thailand, Nene said she wants everyone to know she is from the South, specifically Phuket. Addressing rumors claiming she is Cambodian, she firmly stated she is 100% Thai from Phuket with no other ancestry.
