After a heated issue arose when a photo circulated online showing a man dressed like a soldier walking alongside Anutin Charnvirakul the Prime Minister during his visit to inspect the brewery fire in Lat Phrao and his related comments, sparking criticism about the man, who was later identified as Lieutenant Colonel Chitpong Khattapong also known by many as Sergeant Nut Mau Ban Ngan a former candidate for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) representing Phaya Thai district from the Krungthep Bin Dai group,
the issue extended into the entertainment world when several people sent photos of Sergeant Nut with Jack Fanhan, a cheerful young comedian, asking Jack if they knew each other. Jack quickly clarified via Instagram that he did not know him. Recently, Jack Fanhan opened up to Thairath Entertainment about the incident.
Do you want to clear up the matter about Nut Mau Ban Ngan?
“I don’t know him. He just came to ask for a photo. I asked Mik Boromwut, who is a soldier and knows about the military, because he was going to talk about it on the show ‘Khao Sai Kai.’ But it turned out ‘Khao Sai Kai’ reported it first (laughs).”
So were you surprised because of the photo together?
“I wasn’t surprised. I was just confused because the person sharing it with me asked, ‘Jack, how do you know this guy?’ I just said on my platform that I don’t know him and explained who he is. I’m just an ordinary citizen wondering whether they have the right information and who they really are.”
“About wearing a BB gun outfit, honestly, if we are talking about correctness, it’s not appropriate for someone who wants to dress like that if it’s not genuine. But people can dress however they want in reality; everyone has different tastes. However, accuracy must come first. There is only one truth: do you really know the facts?”
So, in summary, you don’t know him?
“I don’t know him. I just want him to clarify whether he really knows the facts or not. Don’t do it because kids hear the media. If you communicate poorly, they remember incorrect information and it can cause harm. Even if we have bad habits, we try to improve.”
It became a continuing viral issue?
“It’ll go viral again next week. The NBTC will call me in (laughs).”
When was the photo taken together?
“Oh, many years ago, back when I was skinny. Now I’m fat.”
Are you wary of people asking to take photos now?
“Not at all. Otherwise, if I refused, I’d get criticized.”
You want people to understand correctly?
“Yes, please understand that I’m not close with him. I’m just an ordinary person who takes photos when asked. I don’t always know who takes photos with me. Sometimes website owners take photos with me and post them, and people ask if Jack opened the website or something.”
