Recently, Kaimook posted about her experience doing makeup for those who died in the Lat Phrao brewery fire, ensuring each body looked their best before being returned for funeral rites. She also made up Breeze, lead singer of the Tosakanth band.
"14 July 2026: Applied makeup on victims of the brewery fire, helping send my brothers and sisters home looking their best. This was the largest makeup assignment I've done for nine cases, and the most challenging so far. Our volunteer team was dedicated to making everyone look their best, doing hair and makeup. The last body I worked on was Breeze, the singer and fellow professional musician.
I asked permission and spoke with each body during the hair and makeup process, wishing every spirit to find the light and travel safely. I offer my condolences to all the families of the deceased."
Recently, Kaimook gave an interview to Thairath Entertainment saying, "Actually, any volunteer can do makeup for the deceased, depending on their skill. I went with P’Kung, who regularly does makeup for the deceased and has his own cosmetics.
Before doing hair and makeup, family members must confirm the identity of the body. Some bodies were only exposed to smoke, while others were burned, with cries still audible. Seeing the grieving, like a mother or someone searching for their brother, crying, was deeply heartbreaking. As helpers, we had to hold them; I was sad but had to comfort them first.
It was very depressing. Since these were colleagues in the same profession—we are musicians—I felt connected. If such an event happened during a show, it would be heartbreaking.
When I returned home, I cried because at the morgue I saw many grieving families, not just the bodies I worked on. No matter how strong you are, everyone feels it. The fellow makeup artists felt the same.
I spoke to each body, saying, "My name is Kaimook. I will make you beautiful." I told them to go peacefully, hoping they find light. Their parents will come to receive them. I’ll make you beautiful so you can be angels. May you go to a better place without pain or suffering."
Before makeup, we cleaned the body, then dried the hair, styled it, and applied makeup, making each look like they were peacefully asleep.
, Breeze’s body looked peaceful, like someone just sleeping. Because we shared the same profession, I told him, "I wish you find the light. I’m a singer too. I send my best wishes to you here." I focused on making him look beautiful, like how I would do my own makeup. As a woman, I care about beauty and wanted him to look good.
If the body wasn't burned, the process didn’t take long. Including hair styling, it took less than an hour, about half an hour for Breeze, who still looked beautiful as if sleeping.
I told everyone I’m happy to help with makeup. Sometimes after being with the bodies a lot, I dream about them or feel followed. I tell everyone I’m glad to help and to return home to their families. I tell them, if their family comes, follow the scent of incense and the voice of their parents. This is my belief."
