Chompoo Araya, Thailand's top fashion icon, never disappoints her fans. After attending the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Fall/Winter in Paris, she impressed many with each look she wore and presented. On 15 Jul 2026, she attended an event to update and review her experience at this fashion week for reporters.
"It was very hot, over 40 degrees Celsius—hotter than Bangkok. It was scorching dry heat, unlike our humid heat back home. Most venues were old buildings without air conditioning, or hotel air conditioning wasn’t very strong. We have an advantage over Europeans, but they don’t use ice or drink cold water. We adapted by keeping calm, moving less, and during shows I would shower and splash cold water on myself. Fortunately, the schedule was known in advance, giving us some time. Sometimes I wanted to wear more comfortable clothes, but evenings were bearable. I think Europeans aren’t used to this; they don’t know not to leave things in cars because they’ve never experienced this. We know not to leave plastic water bottles in cars because they’ll melt, but Europeans really can’t tolerate it. Makeup held up well; it was manageable. We communicated daily with the team about the outfits, confirming looks and locations each day. Although I missed one show, everything else went smoothly."
