This was a much-anticipated day for fans: the wedding celebration of the famous couple. Nadech Kugimiya and Yaya Urassaya Sperbund Recently, Nadech and Yaya held their wedding celebration at the Dusit Thani Hotel and shared their feelings on this important day. The couple thanked everyone for their support that brought them to this moment, admitted their love exceeded their imagination, revealed they are not rushing to have children or register their marriage, and plan to honeymoon abroad in a few days.
How are you feeling today?
Nadech: First of all, I want to thank everyone for honoring us by being witnesses to our love today. It's finally here. (Reporters cheer) Thank you very much. I've been in the entertainment industry for nearly 20 years. It's a long journey, but time has passed very quickly.
I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support, and for reminding me to live rightly as a representative of society. Thank you all again for coming to witness the seal of love between me and my bride today. (Smiles)
Yaya: Thank you so much for being witnesses for us today. Honestly, without you all, there would be no us. We've always relied on each other. Thank you for your love, patience, and support. Whenever we're interviewed, everyone asks about P'Bear, who is always in my heart even when we're not working together. (Laughs) I'm very happy everyone is here today. We've reached this point—we are husband and wife now. (Smiles) I'm so grateful to share this important moment with everyone.
Fans have been congratulating you since this morning. How does that feel?
Nadech: Yes, actually, if we had more opportunities, more fans would have come, but due to the venue and time, only about 210 lucky fans could attend. They’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. Seeing us in wedding attire is a dream for them, and they appreciate our growth. There are fans of Yaya, fans of Nadech, and fans of NY.
Yaya: They’ve waited a long time. (Laughs) I think the fans are asleep now. (Laughs) When asked what blessings they gave, mostly it was congratulations.
Nadech: And waiting for a little one. (Laughs)
Yaya: Yes, everyone said that.
What did you say back to the fans?
Nadech: Well... hehe (Laughs)
So you definitely plan to have children but not rushing, right?
Nadech: Well... not rushing that much. (Not anytime soon?) Uh... not tonight. (Laughs)
Looking back on your journey together until today, has it been as you imagined?
Nadech: I feel it has exceeded what I imagined. I consider myself very lucky to have her as my wife. We've known each other a long time, and she continually guides me in the right direction. She helps me become a better person, and I want to improve for her and for our future relationship.
Yaya, do you feel lucky to have this husband?
Yaya: Yes, very lucky. When I first met P'Bear and got to know him gradually, I already saw this clear picture. It’s exactly what I dreamed of.
Let's go back to the first day. Do you remember when you met? Did you secretly think it had to be this person?
Yaya: The first day and already say we have to get married? (Laughs) This guy?
Nadech: I did. (Laughs) After finishing "Duangjai Akkanee," I felt like I really wanted to be this guy’s boyfriend. I wanted to court her. But since my English wasn’t strong, I tried practicing English with her all the time to make a good impression.
Yaya: I remember back then we texted—no LINE yet—just text messages. He messaged me saying "Hey Shawty." (Laughs) It was cute. But while filming, he didn’t talk to me much; he just looked at me.
When did the chemistry start?
Yaya: Our chemistry was good from the first day we met.
When did you realize he was courting you?
Yaya: When he sent the text saying "Hey Shawty." (Laughs) That was definitely flirting.
What made you fall in love with him?
Nadech: (Laughs) It’s her cuteness and bright energy that has always been constant. She’s a woman full of lively energy. Her playful clinginess makes life feel alive. Also, she’s very kind, hardworking, and has an indescribable charm. I realized I fell for her while we worked together on several dramas, especially in our second project, "Game Rai Game Rak." That was the moment I thought, "Alright!" (Laughs)
How did you court Yaya back then?
Nadech: I liked to sit beside her in the van and say, “Listen, listen to this music.” Before earbuds were common, we shared one earbud, dreaming she would fall asleep on my shoulder. (Laughs)
Yaya: But that never happened because I sleep like this. (Pretends to sleep with mouth open)
What kind of music did you play for her?
Nadech: Mostly international love songs. I was careful to avoid sad or heartbreak songs. (Smiles)
So Nadech always prepared to court Yaya? Meaning, he planned how to win her over?
Nadech: Oh no, not that much. (Smiles) Since we acted together and spent over 12 hours daily, we naturally absorbed each other’s feelings over time.
Yaya: I consider us lucky.
Do you remember the day you asked her to be your girlfriend?
Nadech: Yes. Actually, we agreed on a day that marked the official start of being a couple. We felt our feelings were clear, so we picked a date to say we loved each other and were together.
Yaya: There wasn’t a single clear day because we probably fell in love before officially becoming a couple.
When did you fall in love with Nadech?
Yaya: I don’t remember. (Laughs)
Nadech: From the first day.
Yaya: I’m a Pisces, so when I love, I love completely—but not with everyone, obviously. I just felt something was right with this person.
What impressions or memorable moments stand out?
Yaya: I felt our energies matched perfectly, like a vibe that just clicked, even though we had language barriers early on—sometimes we needed Google Translate.
What made you feel this person was the one?
Yaya: Everything. If I had to pick one thing, it wouldn’t be fair to the others I liked. There are many reasons. As everyone can see, P'Bear is very sincere with himself and radiates that sincerity to others. He’s honest with everyone around him, which makes me feel comfortable and able to be my true self 100 percent.
What about Nadech has remained unchanged from the first day until today?
Yaya: Everything. Nothing has changed. (Laughs)
What do you like most about Nadech?
Yaya: His heart. Because he does everything with sincerity, and his heart beats for "Yaya." (Laughs)
Nadech: When she says that, she sounds cute; when I say it, I feel creepy somehow. (Laughs) "Yaya." (Whispers)
What have you had to learn or adjust to blend so well together?
Nadech: I believe we’re constantly learning about each other. There’s no fixed formula in marriage or strict rules about who does what. We observe each other’s feelings and ourselves continuously to maintain what we’re used to and to adapt and develop together, moving forward in the same direction.
You’ve gone through many challenges. When things got tough, how did you support each other?
Yaya: I always believe that in a relationship, when someone faces their worst moments, we have to love the version of the person who is growing and changing. You have to love every version of the person you choose to be with.
If someone goes through something painful and grows from it, their partner must support and be like the "wind beneath their wings," helping them rise. We’ve seen many versions of each other since day one, growing together despite hardships. Does that make sense? It does. (Laughs)
When you faced problems, how was it to have this woman by your side?
Nadech: She’s always been by my side. She never left me. (Smiles) When I felt my worst, as she said, she waited for me to change and become better. She was ready to embrace me again.
Have you made any promises to each other for your married life?
Nadech: Yes, we spoke these during our wedding ceremony in Norway. These are vows we made to each other—to hold hands through the lows and highs, coldest and hottest times, sorrow and happiness, and to endure those moments together.
Yaya: Endure... (laughs) We promise to be good friends and good spouses.
Nadech: No need to say more; she’s already good. (Laughs)
Nadech, is there anything you want to say to Yaya today?
Nadech: She looks beautiful today. (Smiles) She’s been beautiful since morning. I don’t have much to say; we’ve said a lot already. Today, looking at her, she’s just beautiful. After three events, I never get tired of seeing her.
This beautiful woman is your wife now?
Nadech: Yes, she is! (Laughs)
Any plans about registering your marriage?
Nadech: Actually, we’ve thought about it, but we’re not in a rush to register anything yet.
Yaya: We haven’t had time yet. (Laughs)
Nadech: Yes, there are many things to prepare. It’s quite a sensitive matter.
What about today’s after-party?
Nadech: Today, we’ll have a photo booth for guests and a mini concert—though not mine. (Laughs) It’s a guest artist surprise. Overall, it’s mainly a party with food and drinks.
How many outfits are you wearing today?
Yaya: This is my second outfit today. I have two more to change into.
Nadech: I have four outfits, with two left to wear. We coordinate with Yaya’s stylist to match colors and tones. Actually, we both wear silk, so they’re quite similar.
What about the dowry?
Nadech: None. (Laughs) The dowry was given during the Khon Kaen ceremony according to Thai tradition, including money and gold. But we deposited everything in a locked account for our children’s future. The dowry and wedding gifts are saved in a locked account that can only be accessed in two to three years.
Earlier, Nadech said he wanted to have children like a football team. Do you still want that?
Yaya: That sounds scary! (Laughs)
Nadech: For now, one at a time.
Yaya: I agree. When asked if I want a boy or a girl first, I say either is fine.
What are your honeymoon plans?
Yaya: I have today, actually. (Laughs) Just kidding. In a few days, we’ll go on our honeymoon.
Nadech: Yes.
Yaya: Where? Hee hee hee, I won’t say. (Laughs) We’re going abroad.
What would you like to say to those who have supported you from being an on-screen couple to real life?
Nadech: I want to thank everyone, especially the media, who have been the bridge sharing aspects of our lives that the general public never sees. Through interviews, photos, videos, and more, the media has allowed fans far away to know who we truly are. So I believe the fans should thank the media more because they have helped us reach people everywhere. Thank you for your continuous support.
Yaya: Honestly, the encouragement really matters. (Smiles) At first, we worked together sometimes and not at others. Even when apart, the fans’ support kept us thinking of each other and imagining a future. It made us say, “Yes, this is good.” Thank you for the encouragement; it helped us fight to this day. Thank you very much. (Laughs)
