There is a heated drama currently unfolding online regarding the case where Krit Sripoomseth posted a message to Thai people urging them to stop a stagnant mindset; otherwise, the country will only have poor-quality products. Anyone trying to do something good would be criticized and lose motivation. In developed countries, society values good products, innovation, uniqueness, and creativity, supporting those who create change. Otherwise, consumers will continue to consume only poor-quality items within their limited scope.
This issue led to heavy criticism of Krit on social media, spilling over to his gelato ice cream business—a popular shop with long queues every day. Customers who enjoyed the gelato left positive reviews, while others who disliked it were told not to visit, sparking online debates.
Recently, former "Tee Sip" show host Kem Kritthira Inphrawijit or Kem Tee Sip posted her opinion on this matter as someone who used to sell gelato and studied at a top 3 institution with an Italian teacher, sharing the following message.
“From the heart of someone who sold gelato, straight from Italy, and graduated from a top 3 school with an Italian instructor. Maybe I studied less than five years, but I made it myself at every step, using the best ingredients, yet still failed. Back then, I sold scoops at 89 baht each and was cursed for being expensive. I can say just finishing the process without making it too sticky already achieves super platinum ultra smooth quality.
I understand negative-style marketing because it calls influencers; the more criticized, the more famous it gets, challenging people to try and then critique. But lately, it seems off, like broken links. When faced with comments, the Thai netizens ask to adjust marketing to be more positive sometimes. Let’s acknowledge the skill: good at spinning, spinning ice cream (cross mark), spinning drama (check mark).”
Many netizens have chimed in with opinions, and one asked Kem directly, “Will you try it?” to which Kem clearly replied, “I don’t think so, haha.”
