A major concert comeback for the famous rocker. Sek Seksan Sukpimai, : or Sek Loso, who is preparing a new concert titled “30 Years of LOSO: Waiting No Matter How Long…” at Rajamangala National Stadium. Recently, Sek Loso, along with Rat Aphirat Sukjit, Yai Kittisak Kotkham, Klang Kris Sunthornyan, Suea Setkarn Sukpimai, Teddy Natnat Thiransomboon, and Tom Worabut Tiaprasert, and Bolso Phongsathon, opened up about this concert at Lido Hall 2, Siam Square.
In addition, Sek Loso addressed questions regarding Kanth Vipakorn, his wife, announcing the sale of the Nantawan house to build a new one, as well as revealing his role as an idol for younger artists and sending support to young rockstar Nene Royal competing on America’s Got Talent.
Sek said, “Thank you to all the media for honoring us with your presence today. This is our encouragement, thank you. On 21 Nov, the 30 Years LOSO concert ‘Waiting No Matter How Long’ will be at Rajamangala National Stadium. We will give it our all.”
“When I was in prison, Kanth told me that Pee Ple was interested in organizing a concert. At that time, I didn’t know when I’d be released. Now, it’s almost a month since I got out, and the response from Thai people has been overwhelming. I want to thank everyone who still loves me and LOSO, and who loves my son. Thank you very much.”
Do you have time to rehearse yet?
Sek said, “We’ve booked rehearsal rooms for a month. Right now, we’re selecting songs, picking many that have never been performed before. We’re choosing together.”
Yai said, “I think there will be over 40 songs because we have quite a few that need to be played, including some surprise songs for the fans.”
Fans have been waiting a long time?
Rat said, “We’ve been waiting for Sek for a long time. This 30-year concert will feature songs that everyone wants to hear, as seen in the comments. We will play songs we’ve never performed before and definitely some new songs.”
Sek said, “There are songs I wrote in prison that have been recorded by LOSO Original, and Tiger also joined in.”
What kind of image do you want to present to both new fans and longtime followers?
Sek said, “I’m very surprised. Both LOSO Original and Sek Loso’s band have played in every province and received great responses. There are many new fans, even kids around 10 years old—what they call Generation Alpha. I asked them when they started listening to my music, and they said their fathers introduced them. So, accessing LOSO’s music now isn’t difficult; you can find it on YouTube, Spotify, and many other platforms.”
The scale at Rajamangala will definitely be comprehensive, right?
Sek said, “We will give it our all. We’re training our bodies. Believe it or not, a doctor came to inject my belly at home. I had to get Botox injections at home (laughs) because my belly is very big. I’m trying to make it look as good as possible for our fans. It’s quite popular now. No tattoos, just injections—I had about 30 injections in my belly. It’s helped reduce it somewhat. I might not be a golden body yet, but a new form—a diamond body (laughs).”
How is your health?
Sek said, “Both my physical and mental health are very good. You could say I earned a life university degree during my one year and three days in prison. Now that I’m out, I’m aware and grateful to everyone who has followed me.”
Suea said, “Dad doesn’t like exercising much. Asking how to persuade him might be hard, but we support him if he wants to go (laughs). The first time I went to Rajamangala like this was amazing. Preparing means serious rehearsals. During our reserved rehearsal times, we have to be strict and perfect.”
How does it feel that LOSO is still here and that Sek says you’ll be around for another 15 years?
Sek said, “I believe as our senior bands get older, we will represent concert tours in this country. I’m 52 now and think I can fight on until 70 (friends joked whether I’ll really last that long). Yes, I can. Pee Add Carabao (Yuenyong Opakul) is 72 and still touring, so I can handle it too.”
Rock bands remain a part of Thailand?
Sek said, “I think LOSO and all its songs are national treasures. Thank you to everyone for preserving them.”
Are you fit and ready for the concert?
Sek said, “In prison, I got to sleep quite a lot, about 8–9 hours a day. But since getting out, my wife has booked me full of concerts. So, I sleep less now but still manage. Last night, I slept only 2–3 hours but felt fulfilled, meeting friends, family, media, and LOSO fans. I feel fulfilled and ready to fight.”
Are people eager to see Suea’s six-pack at the concert?
Suea said, “Me? You miss me that much? Just wait and see. I won’t confirm anything (laughs).”
Sek said, “I think some girls come to see LOSO, but many probably come to see Suea.”
Sek teases a lot. So is Suea single or not?
Sek said, “Are you single, son?”
Suea said, “I’m saying single for now (laughs). Let’s change the question.”
What keeps the members waiting for Sek every day? What hope does it bring?
Yai said, “Actually, LOSO isn’t just a band. LOSO, Sek, and our members are my whole life. The break felt even more like longing, a shining hope. Now that we’re back, I can honestly say I’m extremely happy. From here on, whether music or big concerts, I will devote my life fully.”
What keeps LOSO united, while other bands split and close their chapters, but your band continues to build the legacy?
Sek said, “LOSO creates all its own songs. Our life is here. While I was in prison, friends scattered doing their own things waiting for me. Now that I’m back, they still love me as before, and I still love my friends and brothers. Whether Pee Tom, Pee Tommy, Pee Teddy, Monso, Pee Rat, Klang, or Yai, they stick together. So, we’ll always be together. Yes, 15 years and still moving forward as a band.”
Ask Teddy—earlier he was seen selling snacks?
Teddy said, “During the one year Sek was in prison, I became a vendor, doing celebrity booths. Thanks to everyone who supported by buying. I sold crispy mushroom snacks, fermented mushroom, and also Teddy’s perfume. I’m still selling now, so please support.”
How does Sek feel that LOSO inspires young artists like Nene?
Sek said, “I believe so, because many young people listen to LOSO’s music. Just now, I saw on Spotify that many songs have tens of millions of plays. So young people accessing these platforms, although I’m older, I try to keep up. I admire and support everyone who follows me and LOSO, wishing them happiness and knowledge.”
Send a blessing to Nene, who is building a reputation for the country and sees you as an idol?
“I greatly admire her. At 16, playing guitar and singing so well is outstanding. I also know I’m her idol. Thank you for the admiration. I wish her all the best and cheer her on to the finals. All Thai people support Nene.”
Many young people now see you as an idol. Any advice?
“Practice a lot. When I was young, I practiced guitar 6–8 hours a day, then played at night for at least 3–4 hours. Being with the guitar 10 hours a day. I want those interested in music to train well. Music helps keep you away from drugs.”
“I am clean now, having quit drugs for 8 years. I want Thai people to trust me, and I want young people to know that now Sek Loso and all LOSO members are pure. Thank you for the love.”
Yai said, “No drugs anymore, but can I have some beer? (laughs)”
Earlier on stage, you joked about Kanth Vipakorn announcing the sale of the Nantawan house, is it true?
Sek said, “Kanth announced selling the house two days ago. I still don’t know where I’ll live. It’s true, she will sell. We have a plot at Kaset Nawamin area where we plan to build a house. Two houses belong to the kids. As for Nantawan, we need to discuss it. Actually, I still want to stay; it’s a historic home.”
Are you building a new love nest?
Sek laughed, “I’m announcing now that after going through the life of a rock and roll star, I love only one wife now (laughs).”
Do you want to thank your wife for fighting alongside you all this time?
Sek said, “I must always thank Kanth because she helped me get through the worst times and took good care of me. This concert is led mainly by Kanth and Pee Ple, with Pee Wilai as the main investor.
