I want to speak about the events that happened in my life. Today, I have gathered the courage to address this matter, even though it’s not easy for me and my family. Initially, I chose to remain silent, deactivate my social media, and stop doing what I love because the more I spoke, the more people dug into it. I wanted to leave it to the legal process.

Around 1 a.m., someone using a fake account messaged me on Instagram saying there was a leaked clip. I was numb all over, my hands were shaking. After regaining composure, I called my ex-boyfriend to ask about the clip because I never had such clips on my device. I asked if they had been deleted since we broke up, or if I had taken my device for repair anywhere.
I asked who had access to my iCloud. My ex said it had been deleted, that he hadn’t taken the phone for repair, and no one but him could access the iCloud. After I asked him these questions, he told me to send the chat messages where people notified me about the leak. I sent him screenshots; he replied, “Wow,” then went silent.
Around 3 a.m., I called my ex again asking what to do. He said the label knew and he wanted to sleep, then hung up. I couldn’t sleep, so in the morning I told my family everything in detail and began informing close friends because I didn’t want them to find out from someone else.
At 8 p.m., I sent pictures to my ex again saying many people had messaged about the clips. He read them but didn’t reply or say anything about what was happening to me.
After that, my family, everyone who knew, and I were devastated, feeling like we were dying inside. I saw my family and loved ones crying painfully over what happened. He warned that making a statement might backfire and that revealing ongoing legal action would only worsen things. I agreed to stay silent and not post anything provocative.

The matter escalated into uncontrollable news. My ex contacted me to discuss a joint statement. I asked him to talk with my lawyer. He requested a three-party statement involving the label, him, and me, and wanted me to co-issue the statement. I declined to speak on my part or join any joint statement. I chose to remain silent but did not forbid others from making statements for themselves. Subsequently, the label issued a statement on behalf of my ex.
The reason I refused a joint statement is because there was no conclusive evidence proving who was responsible. I didn’t trust anyone. Neither I nor my lawyer saw any benefit in a joint statement. Also, my family and I wanted the matter to die down.
