Today (28 Jul 2026 GMT+7) Lookwang Pojanee together with her daughter Ava went to make merit and scatter the ashes of Danny Sripinyo. Lookwang drove the Volkswagen Beetle, her late husband's favorite car, bringing Danny's ashes to scatter at the pier of Dermbang Temple in Suphanburi Province, where Phra Kru Suwanpunyarak, the abbot of Dermbang Temple, conducted the merit chanting ceremony.
Afterward, the family placed the urn into the water. During the ceremony, Lookwang struggled to hold back tears of longing. Observers noted several moments during the water pouring ritual when it seemed she was about to cry but ultimately prayed silently for her husband's spirit to rest in peace according to their beliefs.
Lookwang explained her choice of Dermbang Temple for the ash scattering. Initially, she planned to scatter the ashes at another temple in a different district. However, on the day she drove there to inspect the site, her husband's Volkswagen Beetle felt unusually heavy, which struck her as odd. Following her intuition, she asked her companions, “Is there anywhere else? It feels like Danny is uncomfortable here, as if he doesn't want to be at this place.”
After she changed the location and drove away from the initially chosen temple, the car felt lighter and easier to drive. Then, passing Dermbang Temple, she felt a sense of openness, relief, and coolness. She recalled that her husband was from Dermbang and likely wanted to remain in this district. Importantly, this temple is near Ava's school, allowing her husband to watch over their daughter. She thus decided to bring the ashes to scatter at Dermbang Temple.
