Regarding the issue that Wan Chai Akhir Wong Seng or Wan Chai AF5 the owner of the travel YouTube show “Volunteer to Get Lost” announced the discovery of Hlun Solo or Mr. Bowornthat Pengsuk a well-known travel YouTuber, but faced controversy from the Drama-addict page accusing him of posting before the family’s announcement. Wan Chai clarified he had obtained permission from Hlun’s family, and Drama-addict later apologized.
Most recently, Wan Chai appeared on the “Hon Krasae” show on Channel 3, hosted by Noom Kanchai Kamnerdploy, with Mos, Hlun’s cousin, and Go, Hlun’s biological sister, joining the program.
At one point during the show, Wan Chai addressed the drama, saying, “I want to express my condolences again. Honestly, from the moment I stepped in to help, the thought that Hlun had passed barely crossed my mind. Even now…I still can’t fully believe it. I started helping because I didn’t know Hlun personally but followed his content. I saw similarities between him and myself when we first started our shows, traveling and sharing smiles. I was able to assist in some ways.
Moving forward, we all have to continue helping. Once I stepped into the family’s home, I wanted to support as much as possible. Yesterday, I didn’t read much of the backlash, but I did get criticized for perhaps not thinking things through. I was the one who announced the news, and I apologize to everyone for that. My intentions were good; I was in constant communication with the younger brother.
The timeline after that involved comforting each other and informing the news. I spoke with Mos about next steps. Mos asked me what to do next and where to start. I advised him to stay calm first because the grandmother was still at home. The first priority was to inform the family: Go, the grandmother. Announcements to the public would come later.
We kept in touch by phone. Eventually, people on both sides kept contacting us with leads and sightings. As more information came in, we agreed I should announce the discovery to end the search, which is why I made the announcement.

Meanwhile, Noom Kanchai added, “I’ve seen many perspectives. I don’t use social media much; I prefer to watch quietly and see posts from various people. Honestly, regarding this matter—not just about Hlun but also about Wan, Japhichit from Drama-addict, Aum, or anyone else—I see myself as a neutral observer. Everyone had good intentions; otherwise, no one would sacrifice time to help search for Hlun.
What happened, I believe, was a communication gap. Communication is crucial because none of these people knew each other, and Hlun was loved by many Thais.
When Hlun went missing, everyone tried to help. It’s natural that each group focused on their own search efforts. Aum, Tom, Jayam, and Japhichit represent one group, while Wan Chai represents another. Japhichit didn’t know Wan Chai’s group, so there was no coordination or mutual contact. They didn’t interfere with each other.
At the same time, when Wan Chai’s side announced they had found the body, they had gotten permission from Mos. However, the public announcement did not specify that the family had given approval to announce.
This caused the other group, who also knew about the discovery but kept it confidential, to feel conflicted about the timing of the announcement. They wondered why it was publicized before the family spoke. This led to some online disputes. Later, Wan Chai clarified that he had obtained permission from the family—Mos and Go.
Japhichit himself apologized, saying he was unaware and only found out afterward. This situation was simply everyone’s goodwill, but the timeline of efforts overlapped unknowingly.
