Janie Thianphosuwan Today she opens up for the first time about the events during the wedding night of Nadet Koomiya and Yaya Urassaya She also reveals her close friendship with Ploy Chermal, which many fans have been shipping, and provides updates on the Angel Gang’s mental state after going through major difficulties, on the 'Kui Zaap Show' program on One31 channel.
May I ask about the widely discussed moment at Nadet and Yaya’s wedding?
Janie: Which one?
The one making the news?
Janie: I’ve seen it.
There was a shot of you and Ploy kissing?
Janie: Just like the picture. Actually, wherever the camera was aimed, we had to kiss. It was a game, but Janie and Ploy kiss often out of closeness. When we do things or go places, it’s normal for Janie to tease Ploy and Ploy to tease Janie.
So people were wondering if you two were interested in each other?
Janie: Whatever Janie wants. You have to ask Ploy. We've known each other a long time, so there’s playful butt grabbing, close friendship, cheek kisses. Ploy always gets teased by Janie.
Right, so Janie probably teased Ploy a lot?
Janie: Exactly, I have to play the guy role.
Ploy once said she's ready to act in a girl love drama but worries Janie might tease or go too far?
Janie: I do that all the time with Ploy.
Has Ploy ever made a move on you?
Janie: Back then? Honestly, in front of the camera, I was scared and didn’t dare, but off-camera I went all out. And look, she enjoyed it; I won.
Many don’t know that Janie and Ploy have been close since childhood?
Janie: Since high school at Bodindecha. Ploy is a junior, but basically the same generation. Now, we don’t really count seniority.
So you’ve been close for over 20 years?
Janie: Yes.
Close enough to do a Girl Love project?
Janie: Absolutely.
If you follow Janie’s social media, you’ll see her lifestyle has changed. What time did you used to go to bed?
Janie: According to age. Before, friends invited me out partying until morning, then I’d go straight to work and memorize scripts. I could remember everything. But I was young then. Now, after 8 or 9 pm, if someone asks a name or a line, my mind is ready but my mouth isn’t.
But you still go out with friends sometimes?
Janie: Quite often.
Before you had your child, you’d sleep early at home, but now you go out with friends more?
Janie: Actually, it’s the same group. Various things happened that caused us to not talk sometimes or have misunderstandings. Today, we’ve talked again. It feels like I have new friends, and they feel the same about me.
Do you now understand what it means to have true friends?
Janie: Yes. Today, after talking honestly with friends, the love and bond we share has grown stronger. I think it’s the right time and place, coming when we’ve grown up and everything is ready.
Can you say these are true friends?
Janie: Yes.
Even when going out with true friends, you still only drink water and go home by midnight?
Janie: I often pretend to drink alcohol. Many times I act like I’m drinking shots, but when friends turn their backs, I pour them out and switch to water, catching them off guard every time.
Why don’t you drink with your friends?
Janie: I exercise a lot. Drinking messes me up the next morning. It keeps me from playing tennis at 100%. I tried once, and the next day I felt like a dead person—completely unresponsive.
Do you ever let yourself relax and drink a little during the week?
Janie: Sometimes, but very rarely. I try.
You’re very disciplined?
Janie: When I reach that point, I think, "Tomorrow is cardio day."
Back to Nadet and Yaya’s wedding—there were shots served but hardly any water?
Janie: They gave me a shot too, but when they turned their back, I went to a nearby table, poured out half, and poured into someone else's glass. No one was at that table. A friend saw me pouring and scolded me loudly. I was shocked.
Why didn’t you just tell them you don’t drink?
Janie: I didn’t want to. It’s not cool. When I was younger, I would have fought it, but now my body isn’t like before.
Tell us about the Hong Kong trip—was it a group pilgrimage and what was the atmosphere like?
Janie: It was fun but chaotic. Women together always have something going on. One person wants to go this way, another wants something else, someone else is ready at a certain time. I’m the most punctual. For example, at 3 pm sharp, I’d be on the escalator waiting while others took their time. Sometimes I sat below waiting for friends to come down.
Who in the group is the slowest?
Janie: About the same.
This group has been through heavy events as reported?
Janie: If it were a TV series, episode 25 would still not be over.
Will you tell the story?
Janie: I want to, but I’m not sure how many days it would take.
How is the group’s mental state today?
Janie: It feels like we are starting over. Before, we were a group who hung out but didn’t have deep closeness. Today, we’ve talked and found many things we didn’t know about each other. It’s like a fresh start. Misunderstandings that kept us from talking for seven years are now being cleared. It was a trip filled with tears and openness.
Is everyone feeling better now?
Janie: Honestly, friends have to pull themselves together. There are still bad days, but we have to get through them. We’re in the same boat and must support and encourage each other.
People say Janie went to Hong Kong and it was like introducing a new romantic partner?
Janie: Honestly, I was really confused.
You heard about a public introduction in Hong Kong?
Janie: No.
Have you opened your heart to anyone?
Janie: Now that I have a child, I prioritize my daughter’s feelings above all. It’s not that I don’t want to open up or have someone, but I don’t want to put my happiness above my child’s emotions. I sleep with my daughter every night; anyone with kids would understand this feeling. I wouldn’t let anyone be more important than her. So whatever I do, I respect Nola’s feelings the most.
If Nola grows up to about 8 and understands that her mother has a kind boyfriend, would she be okay with that?
Janie: I still love my child. Love alone is not enough; there’s also worry. I think about how she’ll feel. Even if she says it’s okay and that my happiness is her happiness, it’s more than that. There are many details we have to care about because she is a human being and my daughter. I can’t think selfishly anymore. Before, opening up to someone was normal because it was just me. Now, there’s another person who is my heart. If I don’t care about her feelings, why would I care about anyone else’s? She is my purest love.
How old is Nola now?
Janie: Six years old, almost seven. Time flies; I wish I could stop it every day.
Is she like you?
Janie: Similar, but more masculine.
