The entertainment world mourns the heartbreaking loss of the former young singer. Tae Thaman Taepan. . Also known as Tae Dragon Five. He was a member of Dragon Five, a famous boy band, who went missing from home early morning on 6 Aug 2026 GMT+7. Volunteer rescue teams later found his body in the Chao Phraya River near Rama 7 Bridge in Nonthaburi Province at 14:10 on 7 Aug 2026 GMT+7, as previously reported.
After the autopsy, his family held a ceremony for Tae Dragon Five. at Wat Buakhwan, Pavilion 5. The atmosphere was deeply sorrowful. Tae's mother, the actress Taepan’s mother, . She was tearfully grieving but opened up to the media about her son's passing, saying, “My son was gentle, never argued or raised his voice at me. He always said ‘Mom’ politely. He worked very hard. He told me he worked seven days a week. He fought through everything. His first project was building a school to teach kids dancing and acting. Everything was ready, but then COVID hit, and he couldn’t open it.
After that, he told me he wanted to open a clothing store. Since he wanted to do it, I supported him. But a few days after opening, a big flood stopped the business. Then he said he wanted to open a Northern Thai food restaurant because both I and his wife are from the North. I said go ahead, I supported him.
He opened the Northern Thai restaurant, but soon the road in front of the house, Samakki Road, was under construction all year — roadworks, water pipes, and other utilities, all very slow. The situation worsened. When the restaurant failed, he said, ‘Mom, I want to open a men's barber school.’ I said go ahead. It is still open today.
He was kind-hearted. He took students and teachers to volunteer every Saturday at Lotus Khae Rai, cutting hair for free. Near the school was Pracha Uppatham School; he also brought barbers there to cut hair for free. During New Year, he cut hair for homeless people. That was his nature — very gentle. He was never rude or loud, always just ‘Mom’ politely. That’s all there is.”
How did he take care of you in the past?
“Oh, if I called, he came immediately. Wherever I wanted to go, he was there at once. When I had many groups of friends to travel with, he was very happy. If I told him I was going somewhere, he would joyfully prepare money, clothes, and bags for me. He loved that I went out with friends.”
Did he ever talk about expenses or complain about financial difficulties or the economy affecting his business?
“He supported himself. I let him run the school, and he managed on his own. That’s all.”
Did he have things he wanted to do but never got to?
“His last plan was the men's barber school, and he wanted to continue volunteering.”
So he planned to keep volunteering and cutting hair for others later this year?
“No, he had been doing it all along. Earlier this year, at New Year, he took barbers and graduated students to cut hair for homeless people.”
How did you encourage him in his businesses?
“Of course, I encouraged him. I was happy and always supported him because he was my only son. Tae was 46.”
Earlier, I saw you tapping the coffin. What did you say to him?
“I told him he worked hard with no laziness or giving up, working seven days a week. Now he can rest, no pain, no cold, no hunger, no illness. It’s time for him to rest. He was a good person and will go to a good place.”
Do you think Tae had anything left undone in his heart?
“Yes, because he had already obtained a certificate to ordain at Sanghathan Temple. He showed it to me; he wanted to ordain.”
Did he have a date set for ordination?
“Not yet. He just had the certificate. We hadn’t discussed the ordination date, but he had applied. When he told me he wanted to ordain, I was very happy. As a parent, hearing your only son wants to ordain is a great joy.”
Did he say why he wanted to ordain?
“He didn’t say much, just that he wanted to ordain. I told him I rejoiced in his merit.”
What did the autopsy reveal as cause of death?
“The results will come in 67 days.”
Was the bicycle he rode found?
“No, it wasn’t found. Whether he went diving, I don’t know; that’s for the police to investigate.”
Do you still have any suspicions?
“I wonder if he was attacked for his bicycle. That’s my only doubt. It depends on how far the police can investigate, and they are doing their best. Once I get the results, I will accept it. Tae has done all he can and deserves to rest. When I was about to close the coffin, I touched his body; it was cold. I felt a sudden warmth inside, like he was finally resting peacefully. I told him, ‘Rest well, you’ve worked hard.’ On the way here, I felt that this was Tae’s rest. That’s all I want to say. I don’t want to say more.”
