The teaser for the film immediately sparked excitement across social media. "Khun Yai Waranat" (Inherit) Directed by Tong Barjong Pisanyanukul. The film stars the hottest leading actress, "Mai Davika Horne." She plays Khun Yai Waranat in a fresh and spicy new interpretation.
Recently, at the 2026 WEIBO GALA – Weibo Cultural Communication Night (Thailand) held at Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon, Mai Davika spoke openly about the overwhelmingly positive response to the film's teaser, saying:
Is the "Khun Yai Waranat" teaser causing such a stir?
"I'm really very happy. It's a very short teaser. I even told Tong (Barjong) that it reveals very little; I wish a bit more had been shown. What you've seen is only 1% of the story. Regarding the pool scene many talked about, Khun Yai just wants to swim (smiles). The pool looks deserted, no one has used it for a long time. When I came to this house, I just wanted to swim a bit."
Is Khun Yai even spicier than that?
"A lot more. I've done things in this film that I've never done before. As I said, what has been shown is just a tiny part of the story. It's a complete reinterpretation. I saw some people trying to analyze what might happen, but I can say they are wrong (smiles). About 50% of their guesses are wrong, 50% correct. I don't think anyone can guess because there are many big changes. I can't reveal much yet."
Pee Nok Sinjai starred in the earlier version. Was she shocked to see Khun Yai Waranat in this new version?
"I haven't talked with Pee Nok about it. When I talk to her, I feel like a fan. I remember watching the earlier version with her acting alongside my mother when I was a child. It was scary but I wanted to approach Khun Yai because she was beautiful. I think Pee Nok might find it strange because in this film she has to call me 'aunt' the entire time (smiles)."
How has fan feedback been?
"I'm very grateful to everyone who reacted. It warms my heart a lot. I want everyone to watch it on 19 Nov 2023 GMT+7. Even I can't wait."
