Costly Lesson! Nas, Wife of Chok Rothe, Fined and Ordered to Pay Damages for Insulting Former Beauty Queen

The hot online drama began with the question, “If your child and husband were drowning, who would you save?” The well-known former beauty queen expressed her own opinion, sparking intense public debate. Nas Jutharat or Nas, wife of Chok Rothe responded with fierce criticism that soon escalated into a major controversy.

Nas’s harsh remarks prompted Chok Rothe to sharply criticize her for posting excessively strong language. She later deleted the post to ease tensions and apologized to the former beauty queen, explaining that as a mother she spoke from her perspective and admitted she didn’t actually know who the person in the video was.

Recently, Nas posted a message with a photo after paying the court fine, revealing she paid a total of 85,000 baht in damages for her harsh words. She thanked the court for their leniency and pledged to correct her mistakes.

“All settled, paid 85,000 baht for my harsh words.

This drama started from the question “Who would you save if your child and husband were drowning?” Nas was sued for defamation by advertising, insult by advertising, and was demanded to pay 1,000,000 baht in damages and to publish an apology in a newspaper.

The court showed mercy by dismissing the defamation charge by advertising and accepted only the insult charge by advertising, which Nas accepted.

Today the court sentenced her to a fine of 10,000 baht for insult by advertising. Nas confessed and thus the fine was reduced by half to 5,000 baht. She was also ordered to pay 80,000 baht in civil damages.

The court rejected the request for Nas to publish an apology in a newspaper, reasoning that since the insult was via Facebook, publishing in a newspaper would be a different medium and might provoke further criticism and additional conflict.

I respectfully thank the court for its mercy. I accept the verdict and will work to correct my mistakes going forward.

I keep causing trouble for P’James. Thank you. I will try not to cause problems again.”
