Mae Primaya She opens up about another side of her role as a mother, admitting that having children required a major personal adjustment. From being fierce and confident, she is now ready to learn and improve herself every day. She also reveals the feelings she experienced after giving birth, including worries about her changing body, fears for her children's wellbeing, and unexpected panic attacks.
This story was revealed through the “Pris Podcast”Podcast EP.1 Mom to Mom: An honest look at motherhood with Mae, mother of three—Soul, Mone, and Saros. In the special Mom to Mom segment welcoming Mother’s Day, Mae shared encouragement and perspectives from her real experiences to support new mothers after childbirth.
Mae said that after stepping into motherhood, one thing she values is “self-improvement” because she wants those around her and her followers to see genuine daily changes.
Previously very confident and clear about her identity, motherhood has taught her to view many things differently. She accepts her flaws and strives to continually better herself.
Another issue many mothers may relate to is the physical changes after giving birth. Mae admits that in one way, she feels her body is “wrecked” and wants to regain her previous appearance and care for herself again. Despite her role as a mother, she still wants to feel good about herself as a woman.
At the same time, Mae revealed feelings that many may not have seen, especially panic attacks and fears that something might happen to her children or that they might die. These feelings stem from deep love and concern for her kids.
“After becoming a mother, the fears multiply,” she said, reflecting that beneath the image of a strong, confident woman lies the same worries and vulnerabilities experienced by many mothers.
Regarding this conversation, Mae Primaya also wants to send encouragement to new mothers that they don’t have to be perfect every day. Taking care of themselves is not wrong because mothers also need support and care just like their children.
Especially in the postpartum period, when facing physical changes, emotional shifts, worries, and major responsibilities, sharing experiences with other mothers is a vital source of strength to get through this time.
