After Pinky Savika Chaiyadech along with Mother Aoi Sarinya Chaiyadech and Mr. Kittichet or Mr. Sarayut Chaiyadech, Pinky's older brother, had fought the Forex-3D Ponzi scheme fraud case for over four years before Pinky was subsequently released.
Today, the Ratchada Criminal Court read its verdict in the Forex-3D Ponzi scheme fraud case, acquitting Pinky, Mother Aoi, and Pinky's brother. Around 9 p.m., Mother Aoi was released from the Central Women's Correctional Institution and regained her freedom.
Mother Aoi told the media she was well, very happy to be free, and grateful to the court officials for their mercy. She expressed sympathy and sadness for those still not released and wished for everyone to be freed as well.
Regarding her health, Mother Aoi said she was fine. Life in prison was not deprived of food, but she will need time to adjust to the outside world after being inside for so long. Pinky was not there to receive her mother due to work commitments, but relatives came to pick her up before she immediately left by car to go home.
How is your mother?
"She's fine, dear. Mother is well. We thank the court officials for their mercy to many of us. Mother is older now and will gradually get back to work. Thank you to all the reporters."
Did the family prepare any special dishes to welcome her?
"Mother isn't hungry. She ate well here. The food here was similar to what we eat outside."
Is Mother happy to have hugged Pinky again?
"We hugged during the day. She said she misses Mother every day."
How did Mother feel when the court read the verdict?
"It was a bit of a shock."
Did you feel relieved about Pinky's situation as well?
"Everyone was happy, dear. Being free is a joy."
Do you feel justice has been served now?
"To some extent, yes. The court was merciful. Everyone released today is happy. For those still inside, we feel sorry and hope all the children can be freed."
Did Pinky come to receive Mother?
"She probably had work."
The court said the family were merely investors. Do you want to say anything?
"That's right. Mother doesn't want to say much. The court was merciful. No need to say more."
What is the first thing you will do when you get home?
"Mother must thank Allah for the mercy that allowed her to be released."
Are you worried about anything?
"There is some worry because we've been here a long time. We must now face a new world and adjust. Inside, I received kindness from the people here."
Are you concerned that the DSI might appeal?
"That is something that may happen in the future. We have fought with all our strength. I don't think they will do anything more. We are already tired."
So if there is an appeal, are you ready to fight?
"We are born to fight, dear. Life is a journey and we don't know what the future holds. If it happens, we will fight, but we hope the court will show some justice for us."
Some say four years were wasted. What is your view?
"What has happened has happened. There's no need to dwell on it. Getting freedom today is already good luck."
For those who once saw you differently, what do you want to say to society?
"You can't control what others think. Let them think as they will."
Mother Aoi then got into a car and left.
