It took quite some effort to get beautiful pre-wedding photos for the soon-to-be newlyweds. "Dao Natthaphatsorn" and "Kaeng Som Thanatat" had to go through some frustrating moments even before starting their trip. Previously, Dao shared a clip preparing to shoot their pre-wedding photos in Japan, but they forgot the wedding ring. The groom got anxious but quickly resolved the situation by taking Dao to buy a new ring similar to the original, allowing the trip to continue.
Recently, Dao and Kaeng Som attended the Gala Night premiere of the stage musical 'Muang Maraya The Musical' at Muangthai Ratchadalai Theater, 4th floor, Esplanade Ratchada. They shared their memories of that day.
It sounds like quite a story. What happened with the forgotten ring incident?
Kaeng Som said, "If everyone saw my face, that was the real reaction. At first, I didn’t realize she took out her phone to film me—I was shocked because we had planned this trip specifically for the pre-wedding shoot, and she forgot the ring at home. She did say before leaving, 'I’m sure I’ll forget something,' but couldn’t remember what, and said it was okay to leave first. Then it turned out she really forgot something important—the ring."
Dao said, "I usually never forget it and never go without it, but that day I don’t know if it was because I was in a rush or what. I only realized when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and thought how convenient it was without anything to worry about. Then I panicked and confessed directly to him."
Why was Dao so upset? Was she afraid Kaeng Som would be angry?
Dao replied, "If it were just a normal trip, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But since it was a pre-wedding shoot, it really needed to be there."
Kaeng Som added, "If you’re shooting and the finger looks bare, sure, you can retouch it, but it won’t have the right mood. We felt the ring was truly important for the pre-wedding shoot."
Why is this groom so kind, always comforting her?
Dao said, "He probably saw that I really turned pale."
Kaeng Som said, "She really did look pale."
Dao continued, "I was really pale because I knew he’s been serious about this since the simple matching rings stage. But as you can see, he’s very composed. He planned that once we landed and rented a car, we’d go straight to an outlet mall to find a mock ring, something similar. So, that was okay."
How do you feel about fans supporting you to have a smooth pre-wedding shoot?
Kaeng Som laughed, "Just wait and see. There was excitement even before it started. Let’s see if the photos turn out as beautiful as the story suggests."
Can you give a spoiler about the style of the pre-wedding photos?
Kaeng Som said, "We took 2-3 sets. We weren’t aiming for anything grand, more of a street style, focusing on mood shots rather than a big production."
Dao added, "Yes, just something that represents us."
Did you face any other obstacles?
Kaeng Som said, "It was very hot because we went to Kyoto and Osaka during peak summer. But the trade-off was the lovely, distinct Japanese light, which was quite charming."
Why did you choose that location for your shoot? Any memorable moments?
Dao said, "It all started from the beginning. We planned to go to Australia for a trip and intended to shoot ourselves, but the visa didn’t come through in time. Then, right before the flight, I forgot the ring."
Kaeng Som said, "When our plan to go to Sydney fell through due to the visa, we switched to Japan. I proposed to Dao in Japan, and the videographer and photographer are based in Osaka anyway, so we thought Kansai was perfect."
Did you feel relieved after finishing the shoot, considering everything it took to get there?
Dao said, "I’m saying here and now, I don’t want to do it again."
Why is that?
Dao said, "It was very tiring. I admire couples who can shoot all day and do it every day. I’m done, I’m exhausted."
Do you have a good wedding date yet? Maybe on Dao's birthday, 12 December?
Kaeng Som said, "You could say it’s around the end of the year."
Dao said, "Yes, at the end of the year. I want to see everyone’s faces here because I will invite everyone. I’ve already memorized all your faces."
So December is the check-in month?
Kaeng Som said, "Yes, I will invite everyone again with details on when and where."
One more thing: Fans were worried after seeing Dao cry about losing the ring. How is her health now after previous check-ups?
Dao said, "Everything is okay now. But I want everyone to be aware of this because nowadays, with office work and social media, people tend to look down all the time. When I saw the doctor, I could hardly move because of acute muscle inflammation. The doctor ordered an X-ray and found that my cervical vertebrae at the fifth and sixth discs were starting to degenerate. The doctor was straightforward and said, ‘It’s degeneration.’"
Kaeng Som added, "Everyone has a chance to develop this, so please watch for symptoms and try to reduce looking down too much."
Will you update us again about the wedding? Are all invited?
Dao said, "Everyone’s invited—I’ve already memorized your faces."
Not a concert, right?
Dao said, "No, no, it will be a small event, really small."
